Dredged is definitely a word. And I’m realizing through my reading years that there’s a reason so many people suggest rereading a book when you’re in a slump. One, you probably already like it. Two, you’re at least reading something even if you don’t have to/want to be reading with haste since you already know how it ends. I find the need to reread books if I read it as it’s being published. So I try to reach for those when I find myself slumping.
Does If He Had Been With Me come across super YA? I've heard it does from a couple of booktubers... I felt the same about Before We Were Innocent(3.0), however, I LOVED Ella Burman's debut book, The Comeback(5.0)... GASP! You might not be an age gap reader... That's my favorite trope along with slow burn... I loved Darling Venom, but I will agree that it could have been shorter... Try Confidence of Wildflowers... If you don't like that book, then age gap definitely isn't for you(I don't really consider Daisy & Ryke that much of an age gap) I also read See You Yesterday and really enjoyed it(4.0) If you loved SCYTHE(5.0), then you will love the rest of the series... I did have a bit of trouble focusing on the 3rd book which seemed to be a lot happening and all over the place, so stay extra focused(I may have just been too busy with work when I listened) I also gave AJ Fikry 5 stars I enjoyed The Dead Romantics(4.5) a little more than The Seven Year Slip(4.25) Betting On You was a bit disappointing for me(3.75)... Still enjoyable though, but I have high expectations after Better Than the Movies(5.0)
Lots of these sound good, I’m excited to see what you think. My TBR (for now) includes: ▫️ The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James ▫️Stormrise by Jillian Boehme ▫️Alice in Borderland, Vol. 1 ▫️Mislaid in Parts Half-Known by Seanan McGuire ▫️The Senator’s Wife by Liv Constantine I’d love to also get to Powerless by Lauren Roberts because I need to know if I agree with the hype 📚
As a college student, I get the same feeling you do. About sitting down to read but feeling guilty because there is some many other things to be doing. I also feel like I put a lot of pressure on myself to do well and that plays a huge role. You are not alone in that feeling!!!
i read the assassins blade first and i can 100% recommend. in my opinion it makes throne of glass and crown of midnight much more meaningful and exciting because you know the backstory. also everytime the plot from assassins blade was mentioned in the following books i got so emotional and i wouldn't have experienced this if i did another order.
I loved Just for the summer and Check & Mate 😁. My first book for May is Funny Story by Emily Henry. Started it yesterday but so far so good lol. Happy reading 📚📚
Loved just for the summer so much! I’m really looking forward to continuing throne of glass (I also started with Assassin’s Blade) and starting chestnut springs & magnolia parks! 💗💐
I loved Check & Mate, but I love Chess stories(mainly because of The Queen’s Gambit… book & adaptation)… It didn’t feel YA in some respects 🤷🏻♂️ I’m literally less than an hour from finishing the audiobook for Just For the Summer(I paused to watch your video 😉) and I’m absolutely LOVING it…. Part of Your World is still my favorite and probably always will be(there’s a really nice tie-in to Part of Your World)
a million kisses in your lifetime was terrible. Plot was so boring. The only good thing is that the characters were laughable. Writing style was just...no. Also, why is it even categorized as YA?? There's a bunch of sex scenes it...whatever.
Ace of Scythe is a 4 star trilogy for me my favorite is thunderhead because of how Rowan became scythe to other scythe so good hope you continue it soon
Well if you're pronouncing SCYTHE wrong then so am I 🤷🏻♂ It's a really good trilogy... The last book was all over the place, so stay focused when you get to that one... I too need to read more Gabrielle Zevin... Does she have more books 🤔 I did enjoy Betting On You(3.75), but none of her books have hit like Better Than the Movies Really enjoyed Seven Year Slip(4.25) but I did like Dead Romantics a tad bit more Well if you're a "Busy GaL" then let us see a "BUSY VLOG"... I always enjoy Day in the Life... Get Ready with Me... Make-Up Routines(I don't even wear makeup... Although I wish I had enough confidence to try ☺) Oh... And the TOFU is NO for me 🙅🏻♂
oh okay good to know i need to stay focused on the last one i’ll try not to nap during it😅 i looked up gabrielle zevins backlist, it looks like she has a lot of books, but none of them are too recent…i still need to read dead romantics, maybe one day lol 😄 i’m thinking of doing more weekly vlogs, maybe I’ll fill one this week… and for tofu, my mom is like that too - she refuses to eat it, but I swear it’s good if you cook it, right!!
I marinate the tofu on either soy sauce and garlic powder or any marinade you like before frying... I toast the bread and use mayo and mustard and lettuce. Whatever sounds good! 😄
i personally dont recommend reading assassins blade first, tho it gives a backstory it also spoils a huge plot point for the mcs story,, like i had no idea it happened until you read assassins blade,, spoiling the thing for urself just doesnt give you the fun mystery you have going along,, read it as third and i wouldnt have it any other way
Million kisses in your lifetime is the second book. It’s a interconnected standalone. it doesn’t really matter what order you read it but you should read in order because the couples are mentioned in the books
You haaave to read throne of glass asap, your whole life is going to be changed! 😫🤌🏼 Personally I read Assassin‘s blade as the fourth book so after Heir of fire and I think that you‘re able to appreciate it the most after the second or the third book because when you read it as the first you‘re not really invested in the backstory of Celaena as much 🤷🏼♀️ But either way is possible
read assassins blade third!!! i will die on this hill. if i had read it first i just wouldn’t have cared to continue because you have no connection to the main character
