Thank you for the video. Got the correct O rings. Took the 300 apart as shown without cracking anything. Used silicone grease on the o rings. Put it back together and after 5 days, no leaks. Am surprised it was that simple. Brondell's website is terrible. This was my second S300-RW. Forget what was wrong with the first one. But my wife insisted on fixing this or replacing it. Thank you again.
I've got the S1000, not as lucky as one person who commented about it leaking into the bowl, mine leaked down the side, maybe $10,000+ damages (insurance claim, $$$ deductible). Different design on my valve, no room for 2nd O-Ring and it didn't fix the problem, so bought a toilet valve hose and garden hose adapter and took it apart again to pressure it with the garden hose. Leak on mine seems to be right through the middle of the filter plug on the bottom outside there for the user to clean the screen mesh within. O-rings on that plug seem to be non-standard sized. Not sure how to fix it yet, but have written customer service about a new filter screen plug, and will measure the threads and diameter to see if the threads are a standard size so maybe I can just cap it off and perhaps add an in-line filter. There's also a sediment filter under the house in the pressure regulator so not sure the latter is needed. Another youtube vid showed that same valve leaking in the small housing where the black wires go into it, and the fix was gasket maker compound in it. If all else fails maybe I'll gut the filter plug and try that in it.
Thank you for this fabulous video. The bidet was given to me by my brother as a gift 4 years ago. Now I can have it for many more years to enjoy. You’ve made it so simple with your wonderful explanation!
You can remove the bidet from the mounting plate by pushing the quick release button that is near the water inlet. You don't have to remove the bolts from the toilet that way.
This video is so useful that it makes me to write my first comment on RU-vid. I was lucky to find this video when I was about to throw away my Brondell S300 Bidet. IT helped me. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. My seat leaks on the opposite side. Do you have experience or knowledge of the issue on the other side and if it's a similar fix? Thanks in advance.
I have found your video after I took apart this unit and found the exact same problem as you did. However, what I also found is that the plastic cover that has two screws has two micro cracks right where that o-ring goes. I suspect, that the leak is actually not an o-ring, but those cracks. I put some rtv on the cracks and resealed it with original o-ring. Will see if that fixes the problem, otherwise, I will follow your advice on double o-ring.
Thanks so much! The wand of my Brondell S 1000 would no longer spray water; water just dripped from the back of the wand so it wasn't working.I called Brondell since I was out of warranty, they offered to sell me a new S 1000 for 25% off (which was the lowest price I could find), but this video saved me about $500 For those of you who have a 1000 model, it does look different from the video, but you do not need to remove any wires. Just unscrew the inlet (where the water line connects to) and replace the washer. I used #9 o-rings, but I think that #8 would work as well. I did install 2 o-rings as in the video, tested the water line, and replaced the seat. Everything worked as before!
Hi Tarik, I did your fix over a year ago, and it worked great! But over the past couple weeks it has started to drip into the bowl. I took it apart, expecting to just replace the o ring again, but this time the housing and the area around it was dry as a bone. Unlike last year, when it was wet all over the base. Are you aware of any other leaking joints? It seems to only leak through the outlet housing. Either way, thanks for your fix, I will only need to buy these half as often.
Wow thank you for this amazing demo -- this worked perfectly, and was super easy to follow. I was ready to throw this thing away after only 3 months of use! You're doing a great service for many sir.
Amigo! Thank you! for your help! I have a Brondell 900 Swash with the same leak. Unfortunately the 900 is built a little differently. The 900 doesn't 211 sized o-rings. No worries, I'll find which fit. The 900 also has an additional o-ring on the "stub" that sits inside the spring, which I also hope to repace. Thanks again. Does anyone with a 900 or 1000 know what size o-ring(s) I need? Thank you.--Phil
For the 900, the #9 fits. The #9s have a thicker wall than original o-ring, which should help I hope/guess. The procedure for the 900 is slightly different, a bit easier, fewer screws. Watch for the "filter" plug.
I also discovered the S900 uses a much different size o-ring. Took me three tries to get the right size. I just used 11mm x 15mm x 2mm rings. They seem to be exactly the same size as the original. I found someone on ebay selling bags of quantity 5 for $3, free shipping. Couldn't find them at local hardware stores. Just did the repair today and so far so good. We'll see how long it lasts....
Great video, FYI there's a button on the left side of the bidet to dismount it from the bracket next to the water supply. Just press it and slide the bidet out.
Thank you so much for the video on how to fix my Swash 300. This is the 2nd Swash 300 I have owned. Both had the same problem but I didn’t know I could fix it myself. I threw the first one away, I fixed the second one using your video. It is now fixed for $2.75 rather than buying a new one for $200 and it wouldn’t arrive for at least 2 weeks.
Yes, I have a 1000, looks the same, you saved me a lot of screwing around trying to figure out what to pull apart and how to fix it. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
The company warns you not to flip the electronics ! Never understood why? I still did not solve mine. Brondell wants yo sell me a new one with a discount!? I feel all avenues are exhausted yet.
Here's what I wrote to Brondell... Hi Jacquie, Here's my feedback. It doesn't reflect well on Brondell when you sell a bidet with an obvious design flaw that causes it to fail after the warranty period and then instead of informing the customer of how easy it is to repair, your customer service and/or technician tells the customer that Brondell can repair but the cost would be about the same as buying a new one. This is what I experienced with Brondell, as have countless others who are actively badmouthing Brondell for these practices on social media. I resent this business model on several levels. Either you (by you I mean those who I have spoken to from Brondell) are deceitful and greedy, or are ignorant. Neither option is a very appealing company image. It took me a simple google search to find the easy fix for my problem (which saved me $250 and kept yet another mass of plastic and metals out of the landfill). The design flaw, whether intentional or not should be addressed and updated so others don't experience what I have. This same problem is occurring to my Swash 1000 which I also took apart, however the mechanisms are more complex and I haven't yet found a video showing how to repair it. If you want to keep me as a customer I'd suggest you offer to repair my Swash 1000 for free (including all shipping costs) or else tell me how I can repair it. I'm pretty sure it's the same problem of insufficient o-ring sealing. BTW, here is a RU-vid video demonstrating the easy fix. I did this on my Swash300, it cost me $2 and took me 10 minutes. The bidet now functions perfectly without leaking. That's why I cancelled my order.
I can confirm that the #8 O-RING will fix the Swash 1000 leak....The Swash 1000 is slightly different but this video will guide you perfectly. THANKS FOR THE SIMPLE AND GREAT DIY!
@@scottledanse once you open it up...it will look similar. follow from the hose inlet to the left 90º...that's where you will find the 2 screw he removed similar to the video. It looks similar but its not straight through
With the S 1000, you don't need to disconnect any of the wiring. You can just unscrew the inlet valve similar to what is shown in the video and remove the part.
Thanks to you and your video I was able to easily repair my Swash 300. I also have the Swash 1000 with the same problem, but the internal mechanisms are different. Do you know how to repair that model?
