Any reason why my generator on propane runs more stable and less noisy while the choke is ON what is that all about. and Yes this is running on Propane..

assuming the original angle needs to be 135 to sharpen at 135??? right??? or 188 visa versa?

All you have to do is throw away the useless manual and do it the way this guy does: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sZRVjo8h5u8.html ^ that technique works well for me. It's almost like the manual was written first and then they built a different machine to go with it! lol.

I just got the drill doctor 500. I also couldn't figure out the 135 point placement. Drill dr. should of made a 118 notch & a 135 notch for the alignment part. Also you are correct about the instructions, totally useless. Thanks a lot!

I have this inverter & I must say I was not impressed with Terminals, only covered with a small plastic cover. I could live with that, seeing my Inverter is not accessible normally. The 12Vdc input & the 230Vac (Australia) output circuits are not electrically isolated. It suddenly stopped working so I suspected one of the fuses. Unfortunately, after examining all the fuses, isn't that fun, they were all fine. So, I don't know what it is. It looks like I may have to replace the Inverter. The Australian Govern Solar warnings site has issued this warning. The energy product is a EDECOA PURE SINE WAVE 3500W 7000W 12V 240V Power Inverter Camping Caravan LCD, Model: DPP35 The inverter is considered unsafe for the following reasons • Access to live parts / terminals (i.e. 230 Vac) without the use of a tool; and • 12 Vdc input and 230 Vac output circuits are not electrically isolated. • The inverter does not comply with Australian product safety standards, and has been involved in a shock incident that our office has investigated. • If you have purchased this inverter, I advise that you cease using and dispose of it.

The right setup, but on the wrong generator. Those Chinamax machines put out dirty power. The THD is 12%, which is not recommended for anything electronic.

You need specific generators for clean power. I don't use it for that. I have other generators for electronics, including a solar one I built

Thank you so much! I was in a jam with a 1/2 carbide bit in the mid of a project dulling out -_- I did the same exact thing you were doing. I pulled out a flat bit like what the heck! Then I also had a super aggressive cut. I was able to take a flat bit, restore it, and split tip it so it looks beautiful - am heading to finish my project. I was watching videos like you said you did trying to figure out what was going on. The directions are crazy, for something so simple they could have done better but the machine with your instructions makes an amazing tool in my shop! Thank you!!

I just revisited this video as I was looking for information on sizing a regulator for a Duro Max XP10000EH that I recently rebuilt, the manufacturer told me that it’s BTU consumption is 152,000, I’m waiting on the secondary regulator that’s mounted on the frame to arrive from Duro Max and in the meantime I need the proper sized regulator for a 100 pound tank. I called Marshall excelsior and spoke with a guy about it and he said don’t even use the regulator on the generator frame because you don’t need it, it won’t work because both are 11”, plug in right into the carburetor he said. Anyway I don’t know much but that doesn’t sound right so I ordered a Flameking regulator from Amazon rated at 160000 btu (close enough) for $17 dollars, I see you used the regulator on your 12000 Duro Max. I have been using the Marshall excelsior MEGR 291 rated at 175000 btu on my Duro Max 13000EH since 2021 thanks to your help and was I grateful during hurricane Ian no power for 2 weeks! When I get the new regulator for the 10,000 I’m going to install it and I’m going to run it with the flame king regulator then I am going to try it with the Marshall Excelcior 291 and see.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I purchased all the equipment you recommended. I'm still not able to get the generator to run on the 100lb propane tank. I can start the generator on gas and then switch to propane and turn the fuel switch off. It will run for several minutes then die. I can't get it to start on the propane alone, either. Any ideas? I have the same generator as you, just the Durostar version.

I finally, after 2 years, got a regulator to work. I bought all the exact same parts as the video suggested. I still couldn't get it to run on propane. I overcame the problem by finding an adjustable regulator (Propane High Pressure Regulator with P.O.L. SKU F273719). This overcame all my issues. I am able to dial in the pressure to make the generator run great. I assume this will give me the flexibility to run the small tanks, too. I couldn't get anything to work with the regulator that came with the generator.

It’s not that inspectors have a “God” complex. They are not paid to or allowed to be designers. They are taking a big chance when giving advice on the code/design issues. It’s because people will misconstrue or hear what they want to hear. Then when something goes wrong the inspector gets sued. And if you think they have immunity that is mostly true but not completely. Even if the inspector wins in court they still suffer damage and will have been slandered with no recourse. The trouble is, you will say you won’t hold the inspector responsible but when something goes wrong you will sue that inspector. We as the people have over regulated ourselves to death and nobody will in reality take personal responsibility. Sure a homeowner can do their own work but in most cases they won’t. They want the inspector to tell them how to do it and then they hire cheap labor and cut out the licensed qualified contractor who has earned their way. I would never want to take the right away from a homeowner to do their own work but don’t expect an inspector to do it for you. It’s not fair to the inspector to be put into that compromising position.

Agreed, the manual sucks. It’s okay, until it gets into looking at the cutting edges in relation to the horizon…WTF, seriously?! So I ignored that part and the bits came out just fine if I wanted a 118 degree point, but their explanation about 135, they might as well have left it out of the manual for all of the good that it did.

Just got my 750X delivered today. I already found this video helpful. At a glance, I could see the obvious "118" position, but I wanted to know how to achieve 135 degrees. I just got a master drill set from Chicago-Latrobe in 135 degree split point, specifically for their ability to drill into harder material. Thank you for making this video! I'm subscribing as a fellow prepper!😊
