Thanks for your comment. In short, torch-on membrane is a specialized type of bituminous membrane that requires heat to apply, offering enhanced durability and bonding.Bituminous waterproofing membrane and torch-on membrane are closely related but have distinct differences in terms of application and formulation. Ex: Material composition, Types, applications, durability, cost. If need further information please contact us via email engectips@gmail.com
Thank you for your comment. Below is a description of the direct and indirect transmission methods in the UPV test, as demonstrated in this video. Please feel free to add your thoughts by highlighting specific points, as this will be helpful for everyone. - Direct transmission is defined as the propagation of ultrasonic stress waves along a straight-line path between the opposite surfaces of a specimen. - Indirect, or surface, transmission is defined as the propagation of ultrasonic stress waves between points that are located on the same sur face of the material.
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 I appreciate the fact that you acknowledged my comment but I think it would be much appreciated if you actually put the correction in the video or most preferably a new one for the sake of those that may not have prior knowledge and would want to learn for the first time.
"Thank you for your comment. The tapered underlayment will be applied after the waterproofing process. Typically, a mortar bed with tiles is used as the tapered underlayment in smaller areas, directing water towards the gully. However, for larger areas like roof slabs or terraces that are directly exposed to the environment, the entire structural slab is tapered with a slope design towards the gully. This method ensures better water flow and long-term durability. This video specifically demonstrates the water pond test following the application of polyurethane waterproofing on a balcony."
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not deliver goods to the Dominican Republic and do not have supplier contacts in the region at this time. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
Thanks for your comment. On this site, the steel elements were initially painted with only a primer. However, during installation, the paint on some elements was damaged. After installation, a final painting was completed with the standard Dry Film Thickness (DFT). The steel structures require proper finishing rather than touch-ups, as all the steel elements are exposed and serve as architectural features.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, circular cut tool is more efficient. Sometimes, it comes up with putty sand collector fixed with this tool. That’s would be perfectly fit your work. 👍🏽
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 ah ok Because i bought the 4inch circular cut tool to fix my 3.7484849 inch or something lol i want it 4inch Then i struggled because there is already hole so no place for drill bit that in middle of circular cut tool Then i bought small circular saw drill and fixed it like 80% better now
@hsk1977 Thanks for your reply. Here is the economic solution to your concern regarding outdoor terrace and parapet wall. - It is recommended to conduct structural water ponding on the concrete terrace for 7 days. If there are no signs of leakages, then the terrace is considered safe. You may apply waterproofing as an additional measure, but it is not necessary. Please note that there should be a concrete ledge with a height of 300 mm between the terrace slab and the parapet wall. - If you notice any leaks, it is recommended to use an APP torch during sunny weather for membrane waterproofing applications. Avoid using it during extremely hot weather (above 35C). - Please monitor the water ponding test for a period of 7 days and ensure that there are no leaks. - Then proceed with the protection layer, heat insulation, and finishes. (See my video related to this). Hope this helps you. Thanks.
Typically, the primer coverage per liter for torch-on membrane waterproofing can vary depending on factors like surface porosity and application method. British Standard codes and Australian standards may have specific recommendations, which you can find in documents such as BS 8102:2009 for British standards and AS 3740-2010 for Australian standards. It's best to consult these standards directly for accurate information.
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 Thank you for your technical guidance. I have decided to do FRP waterproofing after thoroughly analysing the cost factor, lifespan and effectiveness. I will do it on my own. Our terrace surface area is already waterproofed using the FRP method and it is giving good results. Now we want to waterproof the parapet wall. I will be highly grateful to you if you make a video on the mixing ratio of FRP components. Thank you 🙏🙏.
can we get result for grade/strength of concrete by this NDT TEST MY HOD told me that the strenth of the concrete is inversely proportional to the velocity of the ultrasonic rays
Hi, Thanks for your comment. It’s called “stud welding machine”. What kind of information that you after? I can explain it or if you want to buy it, I can recommend some supplier contacts for you. 👍🏽
That’s true. Normal standard is 10/20mm gap. For safety reasons, it should be lower than half inches. Silicone between gaps recommended.👍🏽 Thanks for your comment.
Thanks for your comment. You can easily buy products from Singapore 🇸🇬. They are the main distributor near your country. If you want, I can nominate some of them or otherwise you can google it and contact. 😊
It should be 2- coats and should be applied in perpendicular directions to ensure that primer applied all over the surface/substrate. Thanks for your comment ☺️.
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 I was only joking mate , you know , boaring holes hahaha . It's my Dad joke . Cheers from Australia kindest Regards Dan and Kerri 🤝
These use for keep building outer surface clean from pigeon poops. When it comes to high rise buildings, these are very useful, otherwise buildings looks ugly difficult to maintain. Usually natural parks construct for synchronise with nature. Thanks for your lovely words 😊
Yes. That’s is must. It needs to put screed as a protection layer. Because, it should not be exposed to the direct UV rays and rain 🌧️. The protection layer method depends on, where we apply these membrane. If we apply underground structures (which are exposed to the soil, we can use brick/block walls with 1000 gauge polythene as a protective layer. If we use on above structures ( as roof terrace), we can use cement screed or concrete screed as protection later. But be vigilant that cement/concrete is not properly bonding with this membrane. So, we have to keep separation joints and better finish method. There is a video regarding roof terrace waterproofing and insulation in my channel. If you refer that, there I showed a section detail regarding how to finish the roof terrace after the waterproofing. Hope this helps you. If you need any advise, I love to help ☺️.
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 Thank you so much for your kind advice sir,I will definitely go through the video 🙏, Also please let me know how we can contact you, thank you sir.
