Hey everyone. Thanks for stopping by and watching me and my sis do something we really enjoy. Fossil hunting has been something I have done here and there.
I have decided to kind of focus on one group of fossils. That is the Cephalopod family group of ammonites. They have to be the coolest looking fossil there is. So many shapes, sizes, textures. I currently have close to 90 different species from around the world. From smaller than a dime to 17 inches in diameter.
If you need any fossils prepping reach out to Kris at his website globalpaleoservice.wixsite.com/home or email globalpaleoservices@gmail.com. Not only awesome at prepping but he is a great guy. Let him know I mentioned contacting him.
If you have a good place to go fossil hunt and willing to share I am always looking for new areas. If you have an ammonite you don't want or would like to consider selling, reach out.
I hunt Cretaceous sea stuff (echinoids, ammos, etc)around Austin/Central Texas all the time, but I almost never find bone. It seems like you NSR guys find verts all the time! I wonder why that discrepancy exists
That is mainly what we also hunt for. NSR has the Ozan formation which is where the majority of the bones from marine reptiles and fish come from. Get away from that formation and we haven't found one bone.
I would love to go with ya some time soon. I even have a battery powered rotary hammer to get to those really tough ones. It would be a good video as well to add to my channel with a shout out to yours of course lol
I'm sad to see you go. I'm in Johnson county and am Finding a lot of cool things, 2 shark verts and a shark tooth and some other fossils too, but I what county is this? That looks very Grayson marl/mainstreet limestoney!!!
Thanks for watching. Seem you find some cool stuff! This all was found in the ben Brook Lake area. Rockd has it as the Goodland limestone in the spot with all the smaller echnoids.
So sorry to see these stop, but I understand it takes a lot of work and effort to make these. My "Echinoid Queen" daughter and I have loved watching them all!
Man that's sad that you are not going to post anymore I've watched all your videos and they are great really sad to hear. But I'm from central Texas and maybe we could get together for a hunt sometime that would be cool
Thanks for watching. I really do appreciate it. What part of Central? Lol I am planning a trip to a creek in Waco in a couple of weeks. All the rain exposed new matrix.
@@northtexasfossildude you're welcome you still going to post shorts or just nothing just wondering and it's more west central but I'm actually planning a trip around July 14 my birthday to try and go to the NSR
I might do some shorts here and there. Plan on a lot of liquids and take breaks if you go the NSR then. It's going to be extremely hot. Even hotter on the river bed.
Subscribed instantly...I've lived in Austin my whole life 41 this month....!!!!iiii Awesome channel... Ive found a piece of petrified wood 21lbs..& The Bastrop museum has the woolly mammoth skull i found as a kid six-seven... Website
I came across your channel and it’s amazing. I saw where you said you take people out with and my wife and I would love to join you. Are there set dates you do this on? We are actually in Dallas in a couple of weeks Cheers Alan
Hi Alan. Just email me at geor682003@gmail.com. I'll email you when we go out. We normally go out on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Thanks for watching. George
Sorry for the late response. This didn't show on my phone. Construction ends in 2026 of the dam. Not sure of the date when they will start filling it. So there is still time! Thanks fore watching.
Oh my stars! Just found your channel and subscribed, Thank you Jesus! Your specimens are stunning. I saw another little flat one similar to yours. She said it was related, but a different species. Will see if I can track that video down. What fun!🎉🎊I would absolutely love to go with you &Dudette in 4-6 weeks. Does it cost? What all would I need to bring. I am in east Texas. Where about are you guys located? What kind of fossils do you gather? Let me know what info you need! You both are such blessings to us!🙏🙌🌻🤗🔊
Well, last time I counted my displays, it was over 1,000 ammonites. That's the total piece. If I add what I have found since then and everything else, I would guess close to 2,000. I have given thousands away also.
That echinoid is cool. Normally I would assume "Goniophorus" given your proximity to the Duck Creek Formation stuff but it looks more like a baby Cidarid type like a "Phyllacanthus". Clean it up and put in the next video. Also post a pic to Dallas Paleo.
