Two of my all-time favorites. Willie Mays and Lon Simmons Rest In Peace My very first visit to Candlestick 10 APR 1970 he stole a homerun from the Red's Tolan, catching the ball at the TOP of the fence all a while colliding with Bobby Bonds... Mays was 39 years of age! As an 8 year old kid, seeing that one spectacular feat 55:55 proved everything that I had heard people say about his greatness. I loved Simmons so much that for as long as he called the Forty Niner games, I muted Summeral & Madden on my television set and tuned in Lon on the radio.
Before Willie Mays died for a strange reason I had been thinking about him for about a week - God Bless you Willie Mays and love from your pal forever, Joe Nania in Harlem , New York !
For those of us that didn’t get to see Willie Mayes play at Candlestick bc we lived too far away In Sacramento and I was still a child ,,,,,,we heard it on the radio and that sports announcer was Lon Simmons ⚾️He was the voice 🎙of the SF Giants
1) it's been a long while since I've heard of you on here :) 2) This certainly sounds like an alternate take, and not the actual one used on the cartoon. It's not uncommon for soundtrack albums of most media to use takes that aren't 100% film accurate, even if they're accurate most of the time.
Great guitar playing by Vince here. We have been waiting 50 years for this special to receive an official soundtrack release. Thank you so much, LMFP. Looking forward to future Peanuts soundtracks!

Absolutely love the Rhodes gloss floating over the basic track! This evokes so much 1970s goodness, with absolutely unbelievable, new sound. If this track is any indication, this is going to be one of the best sounding Vince Guaraldi albums ever available.
Hooray! Thank you so much for this Mendelson family! Thank God for your dad and you guys......the Peanuts love continues! I emailed w/your dad a few times many years ago, and had some nice conversations....he was very kind and gracious-of course the MIA Great Pumpkin tapes came up and Lee mentioned he had no idea where they were and very much wished he did......as we know now, the Mendelson kids unearthed those "Holy Grail" tapes! And then I wondered if the CBT soundtrack wouldn't be far behind.....this news came out of nowhere and I'm incredibly happy and excited by this upcoming release, and your continuance of your dads amazing legacy. Looking forward to any other possible treasures you may have also unearthed from storage!
