They definitely would, this will increase the head pressure in the air con condenser and for a start reduce its cooling capacity and efficiency as well as start putting the compressor under unnecessary load. This will shorten the life of the system. If you have to build a screen, dont do it like this, you want the air to be able to escape, pushing against a flat surface wont do this
The technique used for cutting the holes was genius! Unsure if this is common or not but Good work! Don’t forget to try indoor radiator covers one day!
