Hi! I’m Alexa West, a broke-ass Seattle girl turned female entrepreneur, best-selling author and creator of The Solo Girl's Travel Guide and also a full-time world traveller. 10 years ago, I boarded a plane with just $200 in my pocket and zero travel experience under my belt. Since then, I’ve travelled to over 20 countries, built a 6-figure travel empire and now call the tropical island of Bali home.

I’ll be traveling to Bali in May. I am so excited, thank you so much for your content. It really helped me. I will definitely be taking your recommendations.
I don't have a problem with anything in your book. However, My wife and I have had an open relationship since day one. She being 16 years younger than I, left her with far fewer experiences in life, as well as sexuality. So for the last 33+ years we have experimented with each other, as well as friends we have found along the way, as well as my old friends from the military, and ours from our time in the University, where we meet. Not everything went as planned, and we meet a lot of fake people who tried to defraud us in one way or the other. So, we both learned a lot about people in general. Our friends and playmates span a vast range of humanity and sexual preferences and genders. They have been with us for many years, and we stay together because of mutual trust and our enjoyment of each other. We have several Bi, guys and Gals, as well as lesbians and gays. While we don't always play with each other in their preferred mode of sexuality, adjustments are made, and the good times just keep rolling along. Not being homophobic, or trans phobic helps a lot, we are accepted, and in turn are accepting of others. Limits are respected, and the fun never stops. Having an open mind, and a sense of adventure helps, and I think your writings will help others develop a more open attitude towards all things sexual, and erotic. Threesomes are just the start, believe me !!! LOL !!! The only hard rules, No kids, no animals, no drugs, and no pee or poo. I'm sure there will be others, we just haven't run across them yet. LOL!!! David and Jill here, just saw your reply and wanted to say we too have used the bucket list a lot. We was new to swinging and it was fun but just wanted something we could do anytime so Bucket list. Jill started with 10 ideas and I did also some was fantasy some was things we would actually wanted to try. Jill loves to give BJ so that part was easy to set up with guys, 3 strangers got very good head that evening. Multiple partners, even 3 guys at once which she loved doing. To us a bucket list is a good way to play but we played with others also. We could stretch the boundaries as we saw fit. Loved playing.
There is a taxi stand with set prices. Buy a ticket inside the terminal (eg right next to baggage claim in Terminal 1). Go out to the taxi stand - you’ll get a 2 part ticket (receipt) with your destination printed on both. Your driver will get 1 receipt. You’ll get the other. Get in the taxi and go. Super easy.
literal chills from the intro. Thanks for saying that! I recently went to Bali (also solo) and I was in constant interaction with the locals. Obviously I saw and learned things that you wouldn't if you stay in a resort in canggu. But then that's your choice. I cannot overstate how much that trip meant to me and how it changed me. Bali is an amazing and most importantly for the locals a SACRED place. So of course if you put in the effort, your mind will be blown. Learning a bit of indonesian and some balinese words really helps, too!
Hi there!! I love your videos! Very informative. I’ll be going to Bali in few weeks. The drivers you mentioned are they only available through Instagram?
Alexa, I wanted to shoot you a short note to say thank you ! After watching your videos I took a few of your recommendations before coming to Bali to find myself. I am so appreciative that you are sharing your knowledge with other female solo travelers to give them great guidance. But the best advise you have me was to hire your driver Yande. He picked me up at the airport and was my personal guide for the next few days while in Ubud. He was such a. Amazing guy and we had a lot of fun together. He could not have been more grateful and appreciative of all that you have done for him to launch is business. I wish I could have met you while in Bali, you seem like my kind of people. I’m a little older than most of your solo travelers and wanted a more authentic experience than the average influencers in their 20’s. Again, thanks and please keep dropping great content. Cheers, Lisa
Lisa, this message brings me so much joy. Thank you for taking the time to express your gratitude! It fuels me! And I am so pleased to know that Yande is appreciated. He is an incredible human being and I am so lucky that our paths crossed so I can introduce him to women like you. I hope your Bali experience was everything you dreamed and more. xoxo Alexa
Omg I stayed here too!!! It really is as amazing as you say it is. The best hostel I’ve ever stayed in and I had the best time during my entire Thailand trip here.
