Both miles off with their predictions. Its been the worst kept secret in the music industry. I heard 6 months ago that a very popular UK band would be returning in 25 and that multiple venues were booked.
You guys are such a joke with your words😂 They're style is very black and white and that's why people love them. It might sound a bit stale for someone but you're mixing similar style with same album so fucking badly it's hilarious. There really isn't another band like them just playing raw alt-rock as well as them. They've made their name with relentless gigging over the years with consistent killer performances. Them and their fans have their style and share a good taste. That said you guys don't know shit😂
I get the point of this guy, and i somehow agree, but he is using the wrong argument. Of course it wouldnt work today dude. Instead he could have argue there were better bands technically and musically speaking, back in their days. But attacking them on their sucess? You can contest the reason of the success but not its reality. Btw: when i say Beatles are overrated, i think of their debut albums and Sgt Pepper especially. Rubber Soul, Abbey Road and Revolver are masterpieces, WhiteAlbum brings lots of interesting experiment. Overrated yes, but certainly not bad.
The thing is they’ve always given credit to who they’ve taken inspiration from which is something I’ve not seen much from other groups at that time. Brian Jones talked a lot about how they started by playing black American blues and r&b and how they’ve incorporated those influences into their own discography throughout his era. He even playfully stated that his musical education was copying black blues lol. This argument of them lifting from other artists can also be applied to the Beatles or any rock group that emerged from the 60s, really.

“Old movies don’t stand up to movies today” is one of the most ridiculous, half witted, infantile, ignorant things I have ever heard. And obviously Beatles are the best pop music hands down, not even close.
I found Catfish and the Bottlemen at 32 years old and they immediately became one of my absolute favourites. They were already broken up by then but I think the majority of their songs are absolute bangers. I personally don't understand the "music for 14yo's" claim.
Who are these wet wipes?? CTfish supported us in Barnsley when we was Daystar and i can honestly say what a mint bunch of lads and even better musicians... This guy dunno
At glasto if I'm honest, the songs from the first few albums people were going mad and it was quality. When the newer stuff was playing people weren't into it at all. Bearing in mind we were near the middle and not at the front where the hardcore fans would be
If it wasnt talked about constantly since they split, they thought nobody cared it would have been done years ago,and if they didnt think they were relevent in moderm music, with egos bigger than their careers
