Bobby Robson"s Euro record was appaling. Failed to Qualify in 84 didnt win a game in 88 lost all three kept his Job . .Even in 90 he had a lot of luck but he did have a genius in Paul Gascoigne. We played well in two of our six Games against Holland and Germany .
Cantona & Houghton goal for me. Was far better then with the 3 foreign player rule, only got the proper ballers in and the home grown players got a look in.
Martin Tyler proclaiming then First Division as ‘best league in the world’. Baring in mind, England internationals at the time, were either going to France, or joining the English exile at Ibrox; Italians having the best players in the world; English clubs banned from Europe. Martin Tyler must have been consuming some top class copium, to make such a statement in 1988.
i have dream about 1988 soccer game i wasn't born back then i was born in 1992 i glad my dream allowed me to dream about 1988 that's a really good dream too have🥰
So that puts to bed Liverpool have always been a well supported club. No wonder the majority of there fanbase are not from merseyside. "You just cant get tickets!" Two years after winning the title!
we sure had some legendary commentators voicesback in tha day hugh johnsy one of many with brian moore and motsey and is always interest sting to hear who were their fav players back in the day.legends they sure are!!
Back when football was normal and not infiltrated by trans rainbow and anti white corporations.... real men who would never kneel to racist organisations under the guise of caring about blacks ...oh and english players no foreigners and all proper fans not fake ones we have today ..1977...🏴...no woke garbage presenters or stupid women commentating on mens football..
I remember some of these highlights from back in the day, brilliant compiling this and Thank you. I do find it funny though I specifically remember someone ringing the cowbell at Man city games, What ever happened to that guy and the cowbell?😂😂😂
I couldn't believe it when Granada started this programme at the start of the 1991-92 season one which showed all the goals involving North West clubs at tea-time on a Saturday evening. It was great if you were quite young like me at the time and struggled to get to many live games. Sadly this was the only season to feature the North West's top flight clubs as ITV lost the broadcasting rights to at the end of it to Sky. 16th November 1991 is certainly a date which jumped out at me as I lost my Grandad to cancer that evening but at least Everton gave me a little something to cheer with winning earlier that day.
