Pretty cool, I didn't know u guys invented the roll pin. I jus recently used a roll pin for a transmission part that required fastening to a shaft.

Hello. Thank you for your comment. To clarify, there are two types of Roll Pins - The Coiled Spring Pin and the Slotted Spring Pin. SPIROL invented the Coiled Spring Pin in 1948. Many of our fasteners are used in dozens of automotive assemblies, including transmissions. Learn more here: www.spirol.com/markets-served/automotive/

what does MBK stand for?
@SPIROL_video
@SPIROL_video 2 года назад
Hello - sorry for the late response. MBK is part of our Coiled Spring Pin nomenclature to identify the type of pin. In this case it is standard duty (M), carbon steel (B), with a plain oiled finish (K). You can learn more here: www.spirol.com/assets/files/cldp-coiled-spring-pins-design-guide-us.pdf#page=15

How to remove it?
@SeriousSchitt
@SeriousSchitt 3 года назад
By the sounds of it, you can't remove it in a 'blind' hole, but otherwise, for a straight through hole just simple knock it through with the appropriate size pin punch and a hammer!

Loved it, actually very simple machine and pretty useful. I believe it can look better, the fact that it does its functionality and has interesting features doesn't mean that it has to look like a 60's machine. You need a good industrial designer.
