Hello. Thank you for your comment. To clarify, there are two types of Roll Pins - The Coiled Spring Pin and the Slotted Spring Pin. SPIROL invented the Coiled Spring Pin in 1948. By the sounds of it, you can't remove it in a 'blind' hole, but otherwise, for a straight through hole just simple knock it through with the appropriate size pin punch and a hammer!
Loved it, actually very simple machine and pretty useful. I believe it can look better, the fact that it does its functionality and has interesting features doesn't mean that it has to look like a 60's machine. You need a good industrial designer.
