This is not really a beginner's guide. You clearly have to have knowledge about the game already. Absolutely not helpful to me. Plus you are speaking too quickly and some phrases are garbled. I had to turn on CC.
I am so happy you made this video! This game was my childhood escapism from my parents fighting all the time, and I still like to play it annually. I never had anyone to discuss it with because it is not a very popular game, but it has my heart. It has its flaws, mostly the waste of time by running everywhere, but it is really an underrated gem. Thank you so much.
Hi good video I enjoyed it , but I have a question, how do I keep my ships after I beat the game and I want to know dose the game goes new game plus? With high level enemy's? Can I also play new game plus with my old ships ?
"One final sent is picked up in the players house. Is the smell of a small fairy named Petasi." Poor Petasi. First being called a ghost, now a fairy. He's an Anc! /lh Anc's and fairies are two totally different things! /j
The Wii version is faster, as is japanese faster than english. But in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter! The boards are split on SRC so PS2 and Wii are not compared to each other. And japanese only matters for a very top time, so just run whatever you are most comfortable with and have fun :)
Awesome video! I started playing this game for nostalgia reasons again, and I had no idea there was a speedrun community for this game. This is a great intro video to the speedrun side of things! Thanks :)
This is a very nice video! Good job on compressing the whole run down into 30 minutes. I'd like to mention a few strategies I personally use that weren't covered in the video in case anyone might be interested. - For Axe Handle, Giraffe's Note and Hat quests: I prefer to catch the attention of the enemy and then move out of their range. If they had a chance to move towards you, they will then turn around to return to their original position, but they will stay facing away from you. When they've turned away you can slowly walk towards them to avoid waiting for them to sleep/turn around themselves. - Skipping Henry's bag: this one's in Phantom's notes but I wanted to put it here too. If you dislike the Henry's Bag quest, you can instead deliver the Watch you got from the Polar Bear to Noble while you're on your way to pick up Jeremy's Mana quest. If you do this, pick up an extra RNG scent to make up for not getting the bag. - Ancient Monster fight: I go to the middle of the room and sniff in a (very) quick semicircle. If done right, you can determine the correct button to press without having to go towards any particular button first - this is likely faster than going from one button to the other. Correct first guesses will probably be faster, but would be all up to RNG. These are definitely not necessary for new runners (especially the boss strategy, which is not easy if you're not used to quickly interpreting the sniff metre) but I think they're useful options to know about c:
