I think it is a little disgusting to call a slave owner a pioneer when in reality the slaves are the true pioneers, being the builders of everything 💚🌞❤️
@@Prime1765 I think this is an excellent point that should always be brought up in our school system when discussing pioneers and how places were built up I totally agree. however I don’t know that negates the fact of not using the term Pioneer as there were many black pioneers also in Florida that owned slaves so I think it’s important to have that conversation when we’re teaching our younger generations so they have a full understanding. Thank you for your comment.
With that being said, I understand your point and if I ever go to use the phrase, they built this city. I will reconsider my words and phrase it differently.
@@NixPix Thank You for your reply. I feel as if the ownership of slaves in Florida was completely different. For instance the slave owner of the Kingsley plantation was one of the former slaves and she and the other slaves were buying their family members and called them slaves for tax purposes. The so called slaves in Florida had their own horses, guns, grew their own food and built their own houses along with “master’s house”. If this perspective could be more thoroughly explained & explored I feel like the way that we look at Slavery in Florida would change drastically. 💚🌞❤️

Nicely done m friend. I love learning about the history of Florida. I've got a small patch of pineapples in the backyard myself, but it doesn't really deserve to be called a plantation.

Theres a lot going on thats not obvious yet. Lots of utility markers in the settlement area leads me to believe theres changes coming there related to DVC. The new building next to Pioneer hall has a driveway and parking area being worked on. My guess is the bus stop is going to be redone directly across from the barn.
Hi, we're interested in going, can you tell me more info on how the rides are priced? meaning is there a pass to ride all, or pay each time you ride or included in the ticket?
There are no more individual tickets like they used to have you have to load a card I’m not sure what the all ride pass costs if you go to www.southfloridafair.com they should have the info and it’s $10 to park
This Fair looks amazing & has so much on offer, its way bigger than any of the ones over here, lots of great rides too & all the food looked super Yummy, I’d have to have a food day & a ride day as I cant mix the 2 🤔🤭😳😜 Thanks for taking us around, hope your all keeping well & having a lovely January 👍🥰❤️xx

I loved watching this video! Gave me such a good idea of what to expect when I head to the fair. They did a great job with the exhibits in the expo center. I love that I got to see a glimpse of the Riddle House too.
