Agreed! Walter’s original whistle is the last Buckeye 3 chime remaining on the WDWRR because the other 2 have worn out. It’s currently on the Lilly Belle and it’s only a matter of time before it can’t be used anymore. Like a lot of locomotives parts, whistles wear out as well.
@@Steamfan1 Yep, I would imagine they wouldn't be too hard to get ahold of though. The Buckeye 3 inch 3 chime was a pretty common whistle though not commonly used in mainline engines though and that's one of the reasons those whistles were special.
Love to see this footage in great quality. Insane that Disney and Kodak were both ok with removing this ride. Never rode it but this has character that would be welcome back if it could be reintroduced. Thank you for sharing!

It was at Main Street first, but then for some reason it moved to Fantasyland. When I was here in 2021, unfortunately the train was removed from display. Thankfully I was here in December 2023 and I got to ride the train!
I love how you put the date of when this was filmed. I always try looking through older park videos to see if I can spot myself and my family in them! Great idea!
Brad Benbow and I were TDY to PEO EIS in Orlando in June 2010. We went to Disney World. Two moths later I was working for them! LOL Quite a surprise to me that I was TDY there and then picked up for Ft Belvoir!
I remember being thirteen years old in 1982 and throwing a temper tantrum with my parents because they insisted on taking the riverboat to the Magic Kingdom instead of the monorail 🚝 at DISNEY WORLD. I wanted so bad to ride on that thing! Finally, at the end of the first day, we rode the monorail 🚝 back out of the Magic Kingdom to the parking lot and we went back to our hotel. Oh, the memories…. 😅
