Great tips! I store mine in milk crates and have a separate one for holidays and animals, one for just patriotic and hearts, one for geometric, and one for feathers. These categories are from what my customers look for most, so I try to make it very easy for them to pick a design. ❤
Thank you so much for this video it was very helpful. I am new at longarm quilting and have recently found Urban Elementz website. Why are some of the designs only offered in a digital format and not in self print or paper option? Lynn (Wisconsin)
Hello Lynn! We are happy to hear you enjoyed this video. If a design is only available in the digital format it is because the path is not direct and would be difficult to follow. Please feel free to reach out to us at support@urbanelementz.com if you have any questions or concerns! We are always happy to help.
I have a pq1500 brother on my queen frame. When I did this, my quilt space was 6”. If I subtract 6” using this method, I have no quilting space.😢 Please advise what size of panto I would need for my brother pq1500 on a 8ft frame. I will mostly be loading horizontal and making lap quilts around 54 x 74.
The 6" roll up space is to accommodate a large king type quilt. If you are doing smaller quilts loaded horizontally, you would need less roll up space. We would recommend deducting 2.5" - 3" inches for roll up space. We would recommend rolling up a quilt to see how much room it takes. I love your teaching style! I've been sewing for 50+ years, but have only tied my quilts 😊 But I was just given a long arm machine, your video made it all make sense!!!!! Thanks!❤👍👍👍👍👍
This is the first time I've seen your videos and the first time I have ever responded to a video and trust me I've watched alot of them. I had to tell you, that I love your straight forward, no nonsense approach. I thoroughly enjoyed the informative video and bless your heart, I appreciate your sacrifice for comfort to make the video its best in regards to sound. I kept thinking, this poor guy needs air conditioning and here you have it . I did not think you were grumpy and I certainly do not think you're selfish after all, you took the time and suffered the heat to make this video for us. BTW, I just started quilting because I had so much fabric from sewing over the years that I wanted to use up my scraps so I'm learning to quilt on my practice quilts that I made from scraps. Never spent a dime on fabric. I'll be watching your videos going forward and will subscribe...another thing I've never done is subscribe to videos. Thank you
The miracle chalk looks great. I see that it goes away with heat, much like the Frixion pen does. But the Frixion pen can leave a white mark on the fabric even after ironed off (sometimes it comes back in the cold, sometimes just after ironing). Does the miracle chalk also have this issue?
GREAT Tutorial! Glad to know that Urban Elementz has this design in tear away paper designs. I have always wanted to do one since I saw one at a quilt show.
Turned out really nice. Thank you for your videos. I like hearing your process for quilting choices. I thought you said in a prior video, you’re on a bernina long arm and then inteiiliquilter. Are you happy with those?
Your demonstrations are concise and helpful. Thank you, I also am new to pantographs and longarm quilting. I am excited to use Urban Elementz patterns.
OMG I have that machine and the fact that it doesn’t have a presser foot lever drives me crazy. I attached the knee lifter and that is the best option. Great video! Love your style!
TY! After over a year, I finally finished setting up my long arm last night. Saw this and it definitely gave me quite a few tips and tricks and helpful hints! Definitely do what you want!
I so appreciate that you talked through the reasons why you prefer the steps you take. We can avoid the bad experiences you’ve encountered just by listening to your sage advice. And no, you’re not at all grumpy! You’re brilliant and you know your craft! Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with us … and I’m blown away that you recorded this THREE 😲 times! Bravo sir!
This has got to be one of the best quilting videos out there. You go into such detail in a calm way. Absolutely loved this video and that green fabric. Watching it 2 years later I know that fabric won’t be available any longer. Lol. I can’t wait to see more of your videos. Will definitely be ordering from Urban Elementz.
Love your videos! You stay the way you are, I hate bubbly instruction! I learn more from you than others and enjoy your presentation. I love these appliqués! Getting ready to order a few more! Don’t ever retire!
You are greatly appreciated for your honesty! I find it totally mesmerizing watching you moving that quilt from one end to the other…I’ve really had no desire to try quilting on my machine but this has given me thought that I may like to try ! I always thought quilting was done by hand (because that’s the way I saw grandma and great granny do it)…I’ve done it by hand… then when substituting at grade school for many years, I met a teacher, now a good friend, that did long arm quilting and I started letting her do the quilting!!! I quickly learned to save a lot of time! I’m still learning new things by watching you! (72 years young😂)))) I’ve never use d any precuts… had no idea what the terminology was that I was hearing! Wishing you many blessings 🙏🏼!!!
Hello MargaretMitchell-ob8lb! Yes, it is available on our website. Here is a link: www.urbanelementz.com/radiant-garden-4-seasons-10-block-quilt-applique-set.html
I’ve always sent my tops and backing to my friend with a long arm machine… I’ve never had any qualms about what she charges! I understand completely costs of equipment and her time!!!! After watching your video, I’m even more convinced she earns every penny she charges!!!!♥️
As someone who is VERY new to learning free motion using tear away designs, I appreciate you showing the whole thing as opposed to just a few minutes and then the finished product. This is what I need to see to give me ideas on how to move my quilt and try to keep the movements smooth. THANK YOU for that.
I love your use of 2 designs. The lighting is so so good!! Helps a lot & concentrates the light onto the quilt & entire work space. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Just when I think you couldn't possibly impress me more, you top yourself. This story was heartwrenching with all the trials and tribulations, but your grace with persevering was so admirable. I think you are awesome! Thank you once again for a great tutorial!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I took the time to watch the whole thing. I've learnt to take my time and in the end be proud of my achievement. As I have purchased the tear away I will be setting up a sample piece to practise on first Many thank yous
Thank you for this video. It had a wealth of information. I was touched by your story of your mother and the roses. She is blessed to have such a thoughtful son.
I loved your video. I bought a longarm for the same reason. This is a hobby for me and I took a lot of good hints from you. I have 12 quilt tops that are in various stages that I will be quilting. Thank you.
Oh, my heart goes out to you on this. Something similar happened to me. I didn’t rip it all out and just fixed little sections. But there wee probably 100 of them. I should have probably torn it all out. I hope the quilt stays together. Good for you in doing it right and hang in there!
