Idk im the type of guy to soap it first, leave it in for a few mins, rinse it off keepiny the pressure washer 10-12inches away, and then, soaping it again and doing a contact wash, especially for barn finds.

You should use a dust bag in the first place, so the filter doesn't get blocked and you lose suction. It's costing you more in new filters because the dusty muck is ruining it and it's taking half your time having to wash the base out and stop throwing your equipment around. Please remember to use a bag next time, it's common sense.
