This is one of my favourite DM songs. The whole album 'Construction Time Again' is so relevant to our present times. It talks about climate change ('Landscape is Changing'), mindless capitalism and commercialisation on 'Everything Counts', etc). The album is full of arguably a little Left-wing leaning theme and could be part of a Labour manifesto in many ways but still I love it. As if half of the song is not brilliant enough, the last one minute and fifteen seconds of that instrumental musical change takes it another level. I think it's the best part of the song. This is art music- not synth pop.

To anyone criticising Alan Wilder, I say take a look, and listen to this album from which this awesome track came : Unsound Methods. His contribution to music was enormous, although he went largely unrecognised by the music industry - an absolute travesty. (Don’t people have eyes and ears!!). He remains, in my opinion, the greatest musician of the past 40 years, up there with the greats from other eras - Lonnie Liston Smith, Stanley Clarke and others. Open your eyes and ears and listen, people. A stunning and gifted musician, and a stunning looking man, a heart-throb, he was born to be a musician, although the music industry rejected him. He is still unrecognised, except by his legions of fans, of whom I am proud to be one. One day, Alan, we hope you will return. ❤xxxx
