Wait, so I have to memorize items in my house, associate them with numbers, then associate completely different things with those items to memorize them and their order? Do the items in the house have multiple items associated with them? I tend to overcomplicate and question many things, if this passes my scrutiny, then it will work!

Just wanted to point out, that the men, who ist likely one of the smartest, who has lived in the last century was not Christian. Therefore I wanted to ask, why you put a jewish person in the background instead of someone christian? I am aware of the fact, that I am probably interpreting way to much into the choice of the video background. Still I couldn't help myself noticing...

The problem I have with every "memory system" I've seen is that each trick relies on visualization. It's always just imagine this, visualization that. Many people don't have a mind's eye. If you process or recall information in a region of the brain not associated with visual stimulation, visual memorization techniques only add extra information you need to remember, making memorization harder. People like to imagine that everyone's cognitive experience is the same as their own, just on a different level. That's not true. Some people will have wildly different results when attempting the same technique, because their brains are structured differently.

Alright, but consider: I don't have that much money, going without a cart forces me to buy only nessecities for a few days. (I have health issues that make me way more exhausted than regular people. I have to pick very carefully where i invest time and energy in order to have anything leftover to do the bare minimum for my degree and manage the most vital chores like eating more than once a day) It's all about how much time and energy we are able to invest any given day, and what other things we can't do that day because of those choices.

Hi Ron, I'm a fan of the Mind Palace technique. but am having a lot of challenges in creating the pictures. It took me a lot of time to come out with a picture for instance learning the word 'solitary' I needed a picture of the word and its meaning but I found it very challenging to create pictures for both word and their meanings and even find it difficult to visualise it on my file. Ron, would you please help me out?

Using the shopping cart example is very clear. Excellent simile. In my training I refer to this concept as "The file versus the pile." Yes, taking the time to put information into a filing cabinet takes a bit of effort, but it's so much better than simply throwing all the folders onto a big pile on the floor.

Simple answer is that people don’t listen to each other so they don’t bother taking in the information such as peoples names.

Yes I’ve covered that reason too here. But again you’re more likely to remember a name if it’s a picture Here’s my video on focus ru-vid.combcZOgYYAfp0?si=tzBlgw5_8vvK53nm
