Hi, if you visited this channel, then you are a real fan of good videos about transformers. I am critical of the Transformers franchise and therefore in my opinion the best media products about transformers are the next cartoons: Transformers G1, Beast wars, Transformers prime. Once upon a time I really liked Bayverse, but after looking at the film critics, I immediately realized that there are a lot of plot holes. I, along with two brothers from New Transformers World channel, created our own universe called Transformers the Peace. On my channel you will find many interesting videos about the world of Transformers and our universe, as well as interesting stop motions and tops.
Epiphany today.... Dinobot was my favorite as a kid, his death is the first I remember really affecting me. I loved his dynamic with Rattrap so much. Now Yondu and Rocket in Guardians. Vol 2 had me crying. They're very similar in a lot of ways, besides personality traits (smart-ass rodent with explosives. Grumpy kickass blue face/ red eyed guy who ends up on good guys side) This show wired my brain to the character archetypes I love today.
If he does appear in the Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover, he would be voiced by Willem Dafoe (due to being an expert on monologing and his acting being a masterpiece)
I remember seeing a part in this episode where Dinobot was going to cut his stomach before he is interrupted by birds chirping and singing to above. He doesn’t want to go to hell, but if he had a chance to go to heaven , he decided to take the chance to die honorable in battle.
What truly makes Dinobot's sacrifice a true demonstration of his character is the fact that he had no skin in the outcome of this. He was "ethnically" a Predacon. He would have lived even if the humans were destroyed. Yet, he was honor bound to do the right thing, regardless if he went against the interests of his own people. We like to think of Maximals and Predacons as factions but it was more than that. It was a the equivalent of a racial or ethnic division within Cybertronians and there were good and bad among both. Dinobot proved there were honorable and good among the predacons, and Quickstrike shows there were evil ones among the Maximals. Remember Quickstrike was never reprogrammed so he was willingly evil. Also Maximals were into some evil stuff too, with the experiments that created Rampage. Dinobot was proud of his Predacon heritage and would have liked nothing more than to see his people prosper, but he hated what the Predacons as a faction had become with all the deceit and lack of honor. To him, it was the coward's way to win. If you notice, when he became a Maximal he never used deceit or treachery to try and seize power. When he vied for leadership, it was always out in the open and direct. Dinobot embodied what a Predacon should have been and they had fallen so far away from it that to him it was better to become a Maximal.
There is so much to this story and so much displayed that it gets overshadowed by Dinobots’s death itself. Dinobot, although a bad guy from the start, eventually joins the right side, but had evil in his heart and his loyalty was always questioned. Even so, here he is, selflessly battling the entire Predacons to save creatures that are seamlessly inferior to him and their habitat. It really is a beautiful story in more ways than one.
Code of Hero isonly the best episode of the original Beast wars series. But also one of the best Transformers moments in the entire franchise. We got to see Dinobot grow as a character. The fact that he was completely willing to go up against all of the Predacons by himself to save The Prehistoric Humans, and that he knew he almost didn’t stand a chance but didn’t care and fought anyway, shows how he was a true Hero. He may have started out as a Predacon, but he died as a Maximal. I won’t lie, I always get a bit choked up with Dinobot’s death scene, I can see why many people putting up there with the death of Optimus Prime in the original 1986 Transformers Movie.
You know something completely irrelevant and yet I don’t think anyone’s pointed it out yet? At 8:19 Rattrap is in his old body when he and Rhinox were working the controls on recycling Dinobot’s body.
You know what i would love? Is a live action movie about Dinobot's life before and during the events of beast wars done with mo-cap and choreographed fights. And it all leads up to this climactic ending. It would be amazing.
Can we talk about how the preds all have guns and missile launchers and flamethrowers and transmetals and this absolute unit rushes in with a fucking SWORD and ruins every last one of them knowing he had zero chance of survival with the sole intention of saving innocent beings and handing the preds a plateful of their own asses
"I agree with the bug. But then again, I'm not crazy about any of you" The fucking line reads in this show. People can dump on "it hasnt aged well in its visuals" but the writing still hits hard all these years later
I imagine dinobot in an alternate universe, where instead of using his laser eyes,he split the disk to 4,coupled it together and punched it to the ground, full strength and has only 2% of his energy reserves.Primal and the crew Gathered to the site,as always, blasting Megatron to the face, and as always,he retreats saying "SO CLOSE I,WAS SO CLOSSEEE!!",then Flies away.Primal and the crew got in time to save dinobot but to a realization of critical damage to all systems, they managed to put him to their restoration chamber in time. After that, dinobot is congratulated by primal along with his friends, old and new(Silverbolt) and as for rattrap, well their roast battle rages on.As he rejoice with his companions,he asked Primal, privately"Primal, may you join me to the place we first met?"He accepted. As he journey,he told Primal his mistakes and undoings that he shouldn't have done in the first place,Like siding with Megatron at the start."Dinobot, mistakes happen,no matter wherever, and whenever you are it always happens.Even in life with our mistakes,we learn to become better,to improve and to thrive for a better tomorrow".With His words,he decided to wholeheartedly becomes a maximal, through and through. As they go back to the base,He told the crew his line "Tell my tale to those who ask, tell it truly,my ill deeds, along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest is silence". They stared at Dinobot in silence, eventually, they agree. Now in this alternate universe, along with rhinox, they became strategists and weapons specialist, fighting along with his maximal comrades, and continues to roast battle with rattrap. From then on,he survived till the ending of beast machines.
it’s an interesting detail at 4:23 that when skyquake crashes, he almost looks half transformed. Almost like he either tried to detransform at the last moment or the force of the impact forced his body to partially detransform
