The cost varies a lot depending on which departure you choose and which cabin you choose. You may find solo deals but they seem to be less common on the signature voyages than the coastal voyage. You can see the prices for 2025 and 2026 here: www.lifeinnorway.net/go/hurtigrutensignature
How costly is cruise excursion to different ports. Do cheaper excursions are available at the port ❤ Return journey costs less, same route, or alternate? Liked the way you narrated your journey. Thanks, have a great time.❤
The southbound leg calls at different ports. You can see the prices for the cruise (northbound/southbound/entire) here: www.lifeinnorway.net/go/hurtigrutensignature
What a lovely video capturing a trip you obviously thoroughly enjoyed. We're looking at doing the fiords and Northern Lights next March, so I have a couple of questions. Which month was your winter trip, and is the last week of March too late to catch the Lights? Also, a main part of this for us is to see the fiords, which on other visuals look spectacular - almost vertical cliffs, narrow channels, waterfalls etc - but your video shows more gentle hills and mountains. Is this simply because you focussed on the ports of call, or do we need to look at an alternative voyage to see those spectacular fiords? Thanks in anticipation...
March definitely isn’t too late! The benefit then is more hours of daylight too. My trip was in late Jan / early Feb. The coastal route isn’t a fjords tour, it calls at ports all along the coastline, whereas the fjords go 100km+ inland, so to properly see the fjords you’ll need a dedicated fjords cruise. The coastal route does include a detour into the Geirangerfjord in the summer and the Hjørundfjord in the autumn though.
In 2017 I did a tour of Scandinavia. I so enjoyed that trip. This video was so well presented. Thank you for taking us with you. Our trip was in May, so we didn't see the Northern lights, but did see the midnight sun.
What a captivating memento of the northbound portion of our recent voyage. Your account of the experiences, the scenery, the shipboard elegance and ease *and* OMG the food will remain part of our collection of memories. Hope that one day you'll experience the southbound voyage and document that for us as well! Safe travels.
Perhaps the first departure of the season. But if you want to guarantee a lot of snow you should travel independently in the winter. Late Feb / early March when the sun is returning is a great time to visit
Thank you for this great video! I travelled the Svalbard line just before you did. Fantastic that you saw the Northern Lights! We skipped Traena and Reine because of the strong winds. I was glad to be able to see your footage of those ports.
There is another beach in Forsøl which is much larger. If you ever return to Hammerfest, I recommend that you take the short hike over the top of the hill on the other side of the village. If you get there in sunshine, you get a fantastic view when you round the top.
I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking - there’s so many different ports along the route so you can make a trip between the two you want to spend time in, or see the scenery between. Whatever suits you best!
I'm coming to Flam in April with some family on a cruise ship. I visited many years ago with a walking group so his video is a great help giving an insight to what to do there.
For Wi-Fi per day it is £12 per day… we get it at midday uk so that we have it for the afternoon, plus the morning of the next day! So it works out then at £6 per day… we’ll sort of!
