The book resting on her chest in the boat is by Tennyson, who wrote the poem, "The Lady of Shalott" about a maiden cursed to live in a tower on an island and weave, and if she dares look out the window of her tower to the world below, her curse will kill her. So, of course, she hears the parade of returning knights to Camelot, and curiosity gets the best of her. She looks out the window and instantly falls in love with Lancelot. Knowing that she is going to die anyway, she decides to leave her tower, get in a small boat, and drift away to die, though the boat drifts to the knights, and Lancelot gazes on her dead body and prays for her, saying she had a lovely face. Like most of Tennyson, it is Gothic and beautiful and tragic. In fact, Loreena McKennitt sings a version of the poem set to music that you should REALLY listen to. Loreena McKennitt has such a haunting voice, and she produces and sells all of her own music out of her home instead of using a label company. The song is nearly the full poem, so it is long at over 11 minutes, but you'd definitely not regret it!
What really makes a group of experienced musicians like this shine is understanding that if a single mistaken note is played on an acoustic instrument - It Stands Out Like. Sore Thumb- INSTANTLY. With electric instruments you can cover up a mistake, BUT NEVER ON ACOUSTIC. NEVER.
The group is Sheriff, the artist is Freddy Curci…. He said he learned to hold his breath by swimming under water…. And holding his breath! ❤ He is Unbelievably Phenomenal, Beautiful, unreal, The Best Beautiful voice EVER!!! I’m in Love!!🥰 ❤❤❤
Glen Frey''s last name was pronounced Fry...An architect named Albert Frey pronounced his last name Fray. The Eagles were great. I love Don Henley who along with Frey wrote a lot of their music, Both were Eagles founding members. Glen died in 2016.
So I hope I'm mistaken but I wonder about a bad ending in all this. I noticed you haven't posted to your site in the last seven months. Maybe I'm just old and tech challenged in my understanding, I hope. This is third in my ADogg journey. There is just so much here to enjoy! I like the groove on this Chicago song, especially after that beat drops at the end.
this song caused more ""good girls to go bad"" than any other song at this time - Slow dancing to this song just melts ya!!!! Love this song since way back then - I am 75 & can still remember dancing to this maybe one too many times!!!!!! Thanks for making me smile &remember the great times & music of this era!!!!
YEAH!!!! YES!!!!!! My MAIN MAN since '72 - He is considered one ofthe greatest songwriters ever!!! He turned down an appointment at West Point Military Academy to teach literature when he stopped to see a friend in Nashville - he stayed & country music was never the same!!!!
With respect: He does mean what he's saying. He's not just-doing-this-for-the laughs! It's that "spoonful of sugar" that makes the medicine go down. Bitter-sweet reality. Play it again, and again, and again, man. Maybe (just maybe) some Trumpeting -ists, from inside the right-wing, rich, racist bubble might ... just might ... think for themselves. Wishing you all the best. You could use it, I guess. Playing this kind of subversive, communist bs could get you locked up.
Great reaction, Adogg! This was great and I'm so glad I watched it. I must have seen this video of Dan's 100 times now; I can understand why you love it.
I love the Cure. I'm the same age as the lead singer. LOL. Are you still doing music reaction videos? If so, I don't think you've done a reaction to Supertramp? If you do, please make sure its live versions from 1977 and any video from live in Paris 1979. I suggest "Child of Vision", "School", "Another Man's Woman" "Goodbye Stranger" and "Crime of the Century". You won't be disappointed.
