LOSE THE CLOCK! The clock is not intuitive, we don't look at it backwards. You have a great lesson here, "over the top" or hands going forward from the top is the fault. Some pros, like Sergio Garcia, describe the first part of the downswing as "pulling the chain down" taught to him by his dad. There is a small loop created as the swing plane slightly changes from there (see Hogan on plane, brilliant). The difficulty is teaching your body to sequence properly as you are shifting weight towards the target just before the backswing ends and starting rotation . . . complex, difficult, and fun to try to get perfect. Xander came pretty close to perfection doing this at the Open Championship, the rest of us continue the struggle ;)

Can you tell if your club speed is fast or slow by the sound of the "swoosh." Is the swoosh sound a higher pitch the faster you swing? It seems like it is to me. Was thinking that might be a way to judge my technique when I am practicing.

IMO, with more years on earth than most, this girl is going to have to quit playing golf before she is 35 years old. She needs to be advised by an experienced Physical Therapist or Trainer on how much pressure she is putting on her spine. Golf is a sport of a lifetime if you don’t abuse your body along the way!

How does this old marketing video relate to the changes you’re espousing now with Axiom and GOAT method. I can’t tell if what you teach now is still the same as before. Obviously I understand evolving and becoming more enlightened but maybe explaining the differences from the past teachings and how to modify or blend it with the new teachings would be helpful.

Does this motion mean we no longer initiate the downswing with a lateral shift? Rather, we start widening the club and as it falls we start to shift?
@Rotaryswing
@Rotaryswing 6 дней назад
They are both happening, this video is just focusing on the hands and for those who know how to throw, they will naturally shift their bodies, but not everyone knows how to throw so if that's the case you will still have to get a feeling for shifting back to the lead side at the same time (technically slightly before)

Does Axiom change or contradict what you taught 5 years ago? For example you used to emphasize using the obliques and shoulders for more coil in the backswing with limited hip depth.

Since Tiger has been swinging the same way since he was 5 years old, he didn't understand weight shift. With his setup at address, with weight more on the balls of his feet, then a one piece torso driven takeway and wide backswing to the top, when he starts the downswing with the club, does the weight shift happen automatically as he swings the club down and around.

A proper golf swing is lead arm dominant. This must have been prior to your Goat epiphany.

A golf "swing" is lead arm dominant. The GOAT Code you can see both. Tiger very trail side "hit", Jones, lead side swing.

Jaime Cavella calls it a Moving fulcrum. Babe Ruth being an ideal subject in baseball hitting as Ben Hogan and Tiger(year 2000) were in golf. This swing, pulling with both left and right arms, keeping right arm bent through impact(heavy hit) keeps the barrel of the bat and clubface square to the target longer, than most who Push the gulf club, straightening the right arm at impact. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DsJ9vPciEqk.html

There are two basic ways to swing the golf swing. Most golfers including pga pros is Pushing with right arm straightening. Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger (see 2000), right arm Pulling, as in tug of war. The sign of right arm pulling is that the right arm is bent at impact. Not even Homer Kelley (author of The Golf Machine)imagined both arms Pulling.
