…if you love history why meet someone who just studies the remnants of it rather than the person making it? Instead of meeting Shakespeare you meet his biggest fan…
Further proof that when you do what you love, you never work a day in your life. What I get from this conversation is that if you are open to working with different people in different venues, like Kevin did with Charlie Sheen, then you learn and grow as a professional and will be ready to take on bigger opportunities when they present themselves. Just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to produce a show like a Nickelback show? Whenever I go to a concert, I am always trying to figure out what the take is from ticket sales, merch, meet and greets vs what the production costs are for a show. Between the promotion and marketing of a tour, accommodations and food for artist(s) and crew, tour busses, digital screens, equipment (stage, lights and sound), pyro, crew and transportation it must be super expensive. The US has huge stadiums that hold anywhere from 60-100,000 people so that makes touring a little more profitable but for places like Canada where the stadiums hold around 50,000 people the profitability takes a huge hit. Is that why tour line ups have changed from a set of 3 artists, (1) being regional and unknown/unsigned, (2) artist is signed, touring in support of their CD and building awareness and finally (3) the main attraction to having (2) opening acts that are signed and supporting their CD and the main attraction? Some of the line ups at festivals over the last couple of years have been fantastic with talent, not a weak performer on the list. Even on a tour, like Nickelback, the two opening acts have been really talented and well known. Is that a deliberate change of strategy so concert goers feel they get value for the price of the ticket? I don't know anything about the world of touring so your interview was insightful.
Watching this a year later, saw Wyatt for the first time August 2023 and it's incredible to see how far he's come in such a short time! Couldn't have happened to a better person
I remember the first song i heard on tiktok was smoke and a light. His voice is what hooked me. Love there music. Really wish i would went to see them in Chicago
Look dude I dont go to concert, I dont drink and I dont pay for my music. I download for free. The reason concert turn out is low is because these singer are asking too much for their concert tickets. Who want to pay 500 dollars up to 2,000 to Taylor Swift. I dont waste my time for concert and i dont care....as long I can get my music for free i really dont give a shit cause everybody is doing it
Not sure Ole 60 crowd is going to be as crazy as these boys think until they come out with more gritty music. Thinking more of a Zach Bryan/Godwin crowd but I could be wrong!
