how interesting - my association is long with East Weipa - where I have done a lot with the Beni Plant and the ship loader Chites especially S11, of course with Andoom where my Trommel design still runs and of course now Amrun as well - love the Albatross except for the gekos
Now the sensor in the thermostat won't come back when you want. Because the heat it reads in on the floor not midway up the wall. Cool unit. Ps - mount the pumps under the units
Looks great will be heading to Ceduna from Adelaide in a couple of days before heading up the Googs track with my Prado 150 towing a pod camper am looking forward to it might even be lucky enough to snag one of your stickers from the box
Haven’t watched you in a while, but glad to see you doing what you do best. Exploring the remote towns and tracks. You do such a good job of videos, I feel like I’m there with you. Thank you.
Awesome video. Love the almost ghost town 😂😂 Its a pity you could not do the Kingonya gravel road to the coast its a amazing drive. We did it last December/January. You also missed a good stop at the pub at Kingonya Love your videos Cheers Johnny&Rene
They all tick mate, yours is under the van so will be quieter for sure, nice job explaining fitting. I miss WA. Just fitted mine yesterday, been sitting in a box for last 12 months, but looking forward to getting it going for trips away.
Hi Jack, just watched your trip along Goog's Track, thanks for sharing the trip. I did the track back in early 2000s and really enjoyed the 3 days we took. Went to Mt Fink and climbed to the cairn. It seamed nothing had changed since John Mc Donald Stuart climbed it 7th August 1858. I did get attacked by a Wedge Tail Eagle on the way down, obviously had a nest nearby. Not many places you can go that are so unchanged. Thanks for the memories and cheers. (Where is Sorcha?)
If you remove the winch you lighten the front axle weight but increase the rear axle weight. Those scales at the depot are also only accurate to within 20kg being designed for heavy vehicles. Get the rig weighed by professionals as they check all aspects of your rig including axle weights.
It'll work waaaaay better if you use one of the vents for the inlet and one for the outlet. That way it's circulating and heating the same air inside the caravan instead of sucking cold out from outside and pumping that into the van. Also, be better to have the control box up at body level so it's a better general temperature level. Otherwise a wicked video. Well done.
I bet it is not going to be your last time travel like that even if you save for 5 years. I am going to London from the Caribbean first class on Virgin. I am looking forward to it!
If you have a high & low vent for your gas cooker. That's one in the door say & one through the wall up near the ceiling and you find out it's not going to cause any problems try getting a terracotta earthenware pot . I slotted mine with an angle grinder but you can drill holes in the top instead. Then put it on the gas stove element. I Only use it if everybody is awake to be on the safe side. Mine works great when I'm free camping.I also use a 150 watt 240 to 12 volt inverter, I find that's all I need for the TV etc.. The battery I have is a 100 amp 12 volt lithium. I installed a dc to dc 20 amp charger that has a MPPT charge controller built in for the solar panels and a separate 240 volt to 12 volt 30 amp charger when I'm parked up in a caravan park. I have a PWM controller for the normal use of the solar panels to the battery. I fitted Anderson plugs & I did a drawing on how to connect each up that I leave on the Caravan boot wall.. I make sure before I connect the battery anderson plugs I double check to see that all the anderson plugs are connected properly (they are coloured & numbered). I've got a front boot in the caravan so when I changed my battery to a lithium battery I put it in an aluminium box underneath the front driver's side of the caravan behind the boot. just to be safe. Before I fitted the DC to DC 12 volt 20 amp charge into the caravan boot I ran it without connecting the anderson plug up to the car. I saw online just before I left not to run without a DC to DC charger through to the Alternator with a lithium battery.. Using the 16 amp 3 way fridge from the lithium battery I drove to Dongara (about 400 kM's) When I pulled up I checked the battery voltage and it was fine, not needing a charge yet.
