Morsels and Motors are my passions: cooking (& eating!), and cars. My channel is mainly on the motors side, as I work on my 5 old Volvos, but there is occasional food thrown in for fun! Instagram: @morselsandmotors Twitter: @sionhudson
Great vid!!! wondering if you were going to talk about stability on twisty country roads.... and there you go! I'm a happy Forester owner, looking for a non-SUV 4x4, hoping that an xc70 would have better reactions than the Subaru in that kind of roads..... but no😢😂Thanks for posting.!!!!!
V8 American Ford and 32MPG, 8.8l/100km. Not bad. In Australia I had a V6 Commodore and got similar economy on a long highway run. That figure went to shit around town though. Thinking of bringing BA Ford Falcon XR6 over from home to UK. If I do, I'll drop it round to you if you want to do a video on it.
If people just jetwashed the wheel arches once a week this wouldn’t happen my 22 year old bmw E46 which is on 261k miles has all 4 completely rust free arches as the previous owner who bought it from new cleaned out the arches every week and wash waxed it twice a week 😊
I'm planning to buy one for myself. I saw one in the area for 780£, I would have to invest 1000£ in repairs and maintenance but I'm earning 6000£ per month and this allows me to get something better but what's the fun at this? Boys drive reliable 5 years old cars but real man drive +10years old cars 😂 That's also why I have a Mercedes W201 190D but unfortunately it never came with a AC and recently I had to use a Fiat 125 AC which is a big metal box which you jam between the door window and the door frame, fill it up with ice cold water and while driving the air gets cooled down and it blows quite cold air on you but it's not enough. The one I found has some Chinese radio and 2din frame fitted in and I'm planning to put my 1300£ Sony 1din radio with 2din big display into this car which allows me to connect my Sony PlayStation 3 system through HDMI port which runs "illegal" modified system which allows me to watch Netflix in full HD with updated app, backup the game disks on the SSD I installed and run those Backups from the SSD storage without needing to worry about damaging the games in my collection. I also plan to install some quality of life features like the Mercedes W211 home light which keeps the lights on after locking the car for 5, 10, 15 or 20 seconds and a reverse camera. I had that radio unit and camera in my VW T5 Transporter but unfortunately it was involved in a accident. I gave it to my dear grandma, she was driving it for a month without issues but then she was driving in a 31mph speed limit zone and some teenager backed up from a parking lot directly into the road and she crashed into him. The car had slight damages on the front while the teen with his Fiesta had its back axle ripped off from the car but since all Airbags were deployed, the car was totaled by the insurance and I got like 25k £ in Euro from the insurance for a new car which is currently my old German Mercedes tank also known as the Baby Benz. Fortunately I was able to remove the radio from the totaled T5, get the wiring undone and also found my old iPhone 5s in the center console which I thought was lost but it turned out that the aftermarket storage compartment over the radio had a hole in it and this sucked in that phone 😂
My Mum had a brand new A reg Mk2 Fiesta Popular in '83, then in the early 2000s I ran several F reg Mk2s as well. A Popular, a L and finally a Ghia. Looking back, and also looking at car brochures from the time, I have to say that the Fiesta wasn't a particularly cheap car. Also the 950 cc engine had lousy fuel consumption compared to the 1.1. The Populars were also VERY basic, rubber matting on the floor until the Mk2 came out and ditto for the vinyl seats. More concerning was the lack of rear demister and no parcel shelf. Which made you worried about leaving anything of value in the car and where you parked it. Overall the Fiesta was really the same car, albeit reskinned, running from 1976 to 1989 and five doors only became available with the Mk3. Whereas the Metro was face lifted in late 1984 and a five door became available. That said as I'm 6ft 2" so I would probably have to go for the Fiesta due to the larger body. My choice would be a Mk2. Popluar Plus with the 1.1 engine.
Favorite car. Wish I had one as a second car. I have a Volvo V50 and love the 5 cylinder engine and the calm quiet ride. Is there a lot of road noise with the Saab? My cousin had one and it was so loud on the highway you couldn't talk there was so much road and wind noise. My one concern. Might have been his car, not sure. I see you didn't really ride on the highway or with a passenger, but it seems quiet here.
I always think to myself that I should get one of these to drive around and not care about but knowing the market on these is going up as they are becoming collectable, I'll probably fix it up and not be able to use it as I intend to 😅
