🐶 Hi and Welcome to Family Porties! We enjoy and have a passion for raising high-quality portuguese water dogs.

We have one Jilly, well we almost have one she is a Spanish water dog, not a lot of difference. She has same coat, she is the same color as the brown. They are beautiful. Ours is 9 months old she is a friend for our black miniature schnauzer Jack 13 months old. Jack absolutely loves her.
@pwd_sushi is my best friend. She is friendly, very funny, very delicate, and not only does she love the whole family (and it is very big) but she also loves and is known and loved by the whole neighborhood 😂❤. We live near the beach and she couldn't be more happy each and every time (and thats almost every single day) she sees sand and water😅 It's amazing to watch them play and interact and see the world through their eyes and be reminded of how amazing it is!🎉
Good lord these things are so cute. The wavy is so gorgeous (curly still v cute) For Savage- that puppy was staying in place when you hold him. Not squrimy at all. does that behaviour depend on the puppy or the breed?
I'm concerned by that dog's body language. I've had 3 PWD's for 30 years, and that ducking and fearfulness is not normal. I do not like to see this behavior, reeks of mistreatment.
My PWD is the love of my life 🥰 - Great with kids , people and other dogs - No shedding - Does not stink when gets wet and nobody can tell I’ve a dog in my house - Everything he does is to entertain us Very, Very ACTIVE!
Hi Jay, any chance if you know if any of these pups are good with cats? We're considering a dog but we have 3 spoiled cats, including a Maine coon, so the dog has to be just right- low to med energy, willing to play and chill with the cats and also do it's own thing with lots of toys until we can go run around outside or go for a walk but also not be jealous if one of the cats wants a little lap time (usually the Maine coon). Thanks for the info and vid!
Cider is doing great at 9 months old. And she's loving living on a lake in northern Minnesota. Thank you again for letting us adopt such a wonderful dog from you. We love her very much!! ❤🐕
Speak for yourself. People are allowed to obtain the dog of their dreams and be the best pet owner person they can be! And families allowed to take part in what matters to them and brings joy to all! Some people need hypoallergenic as my daughter is allergic to most animal dander.
@TheFertileOne And I'll be sure to forward all the pics of hypoallergenic shelter dogs who were euthanized because they didn't get adopted on time so you can show them to your daughter. If you truly care about animals you would NOT SHOP! But you obviously do not really care about animal welfare, you are a selfish person whose choices are driven by ego and status. So sick
My PWD Zeke is my bestie. Here is my list of PWD benefits... 1. Size Zeke is a med sized dog at 45 Lbs full grown. 2. Super durable. He is down for anything I can do and more. Hiking, swimming, riding in the truck, hunting fishing, whatever, he's down. 3. No shedding. BUT, the grooming is a must. His hair grows very fast. 5-6 weeks its got to be done. I am the DIY type and got trimming gear. Tried to go cheap and that was a bust, Andis trimmers $200+ other gear another $150... Im an old guy, it takes me most of the day to trim him but he loves it. 4. Ultra obedient! He isn't the smartest dog Ive ever owned but he is no dummy and it's remarkable how obedient and easy to train he is. He knows dozens and dozens of commands. I swear he understands every word I say. He never has accidents in the house and tells me when he needs to go out. 5. He is very chill. When we go out in the world Zeke gets the zoomies and loves to play as much as any puppy does but when we go in the house he able to settle down and be very calm and polite... He is very gentle with humans and other dogs. He is not aggressive. Sometime he pretends to be when we are riding around in the car or when he is on the zip line. but he is a totally friendly and has never growled or been nippy with any animals or people. Believe me, I could say more. really love this dog-o...
Hello Family Porties I recently came across your youtube channel and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after conducting a comprehensive analysis, I noticed there is room for improvement for your youtube channel for getting more visitors and subscribers. • Your Thumbnail needs to be more eye-catchy • Your Video Title, Description needs to be improved • You need to use more relevant tags and keywords
My PWD Jack-Jack self trained to be my epilepsy service dog after being with me during a few gran mal seizures. He can sense when I am not feeling well and will prevent me from moving forward or standing before I have one. He is obedience trained (we continue to extend that on a daily basis because he LOVES IT) and is by my side at all times. When he senses a seizure is eminent, he breaks the heel position, comes in front of me, barks in a high pitch tone and will back me up until I sit back down on the couch or whatever is near. My daughter is actually a certified professional trainer and has helped us TREMENDOUSLY. My sister's pedigree line of PWDs is how he came to me. I actually helped her whelp his momma's litter. That has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. He is 3 years old and I adore him. I developed an allergy to dogs as a young adult and have missed having one for too long. There's not one negative thing I can say about this breed! I am beyond grateful for the bond I have with my beautiful boy. His love and loyalty to me and my family is phenomenal.
These guys look like amateur backyard breeders or worse. They demonstrate a lack of knowledge about the breed. They certainly know nothing of breed standards or grooming. This dog is NOT representative of a typical Portuguese Water Dog. Well-bred Porties aren’t nervous or anxious. Horrible to see how fearful “Shelby” was in this video. She looks like she’s been mistreated or abused.
