Main problem is that you take a casual player’s view and try to say why he’s wrong through a competitive set of lens. I know that the way he titled the videos and thumbnails should not have been this way but at the end of the day it’s his opinion and people that follows him and takes his words as gospel are just dumb sheeps
Thank god agent is banned on your list, he is highly overtuned and you don't really need as much skill to make him broken Also it's literally the only combo I see in floral tournament.
engineer has 0 mobility outside of jackhammer, 75 less health, fat hitbox, doesn't have a shield, and has much better wall peaking citrons kit is so powerful even toxic citron would be a meta character to run on the plant side
i dont understand why fire characters arent just banned in general, some choices like barbecue corn being allowed but fire pea being banned doesnt make much sense
@@t_piig but you banned fire pea because he "forces them to play a scientist" so why arent other fire characters banned if the reason they arent is the fact that you can "just run a scientist"
The way I see it is, the fire variant alone isn’t enough to get a character banned. They need to have some other slightly broken factor to them. For fire pea, it’s the strong ability set. For sunflower and paleontologist, it’s their healing ability. But for most of the fire variants, they might not be meta breaking with just a fire primary. The only questionable thing I may see here is welder. For having a stun and good(ish) mobility like the citrons as well as a fire primary. But it’s almost impossible to hit from range with that character. So nvm, welder can stay.
I want to preface this comment by saying that I am not a mindless Wolfy stan, and that I am merely trying to provide honest, constructive criticism on the video. I also want to establish the fact that I actually agree with the overall message of the video and intend no hate, I only wish to highlight the flaws in your presented argument and hopefully provide insight into how to improve them. First of all, you establish very early on that this video is targeted towards the "casual meta". I will be returning to this point later but it is worth pointing out now. You also say that he is not the best player in the world, which combined with the previous point heavily implies that his videos are likely to be targeted towards the less skilled, casual meta. This means that his opinion is logically invalid in a highly competitive setting by default. Your first flaw of his opinion is that he doesn't use optimal, or any, upgrades - as well as not knowing about the tricks, which would be valid if not for the context. This establishes the basis for which he is ranking the characters: he is not ranking them based off of how way they perform at the highest level (You could argue that he is assessing them based off of their skill floor rather than skill ceiling). Then we move on to you saying that his opinions are straight up WRONG. You tell us that he is wrong, and that X character is actually good/bad or Y character is better/worse, but you fail to provide reason why or an explanation initially. This makes your argument against his opinion and not against the points he makes within the videos, which is an ad hominem approach and inherently flawed. You also make the argument that you, zBeanie and Whippingboy are all better than him at the game, shown through your world records. The use of evidence is good, however it is the wrong kind of evidence for the situation. You are establishing yourself as a highly competitive and skilled player, which is irrelevant when referring to the low skilled and casual meta. Thus you are straw-manning his argument, failing to realise the context of it and in turn weakening your own point. Furthermore, by saying that you are friends with the people on the world record list you are appealing to authority, which is the exact problem that you are trying to address in this video (albeit a different authority). After this, you call it unfortunate that these videos have a lasting impact on the community. This does not address the premise of your overarching argument - that "wolfy is destroying the PvZ GW2 community". This point is instead a critique of the fans (which I agree with). I agree with your point about the shrimp video and how it had insufficient basis for an argument. You elaborate on his misinformation by saying "it's not 2021 anymore" even though these videos were released in 2020, thus you are admitting that they are relevant opinions given the context the videos were made in. The point "if you still think Cosmic Brainz is bad, you're just bad" is in itself an attack on the character of the person holding that opinion, but I will dismiss this as it was likely made as a throwaway statement. However it is worth noting that Wolfy has changed his opinion on Cosmic Brainz, thus this point is invalidated. You put forth the overarching point that the problem stems from the viewer base of wolfy, and the impact this has. However it was previously established that wolfy is a casual player, and in turn most of his viewers are likely to be casual as well. Therefore, his videos cater for a casual audience who do not care about objective measures. As a result of this, it is largely irrelevant how many people see this - only a minority are truly impacted by this negatively and end up being improperly biased. A common theme throughout your video can be summed up the phrase "bad opinion". You are acknowledging the fact that Wolfy's tierlists are very much opinion and therefore subjective, yet you are trying to apply an objective measure to them. By nature of being an opinion, it is impossible for an opinion to be "bad" or "good" in comparison to any other opinion. You also call his rankings incorrect, which would be true if he was ranking the characters in a competitive context. But he is not. As a casual player, his rankings are heavily dependent on his skill at using each individual character, for a tool is only as good as the person using it. For example, someone who is bad at chompers as a casual player will likely view them as bad due to an inability to perform well with that character. Therefore, his rankings are most heavily impacted by his proficiency with that character and his rankings are in turn correct given the context he is ranking them in. The point you make about twilight chomper is very much valid though, as twilight chomper can be proven as objectively superior under any context. This is also one of the situations where you provided a reason why the character is better without relying on any assumptions. You also acknowledge counterarguments to your opinion, namely the double speed upgrade, and then point out the flaw in said counterargument. Another valid point you make is the one of dps not being everything. This is a very well presented argument but it does not relate to the overarching point that wolfy is bad for the community - he doesn't even use dps when ranking characters. Alongside this is the point that wolfy does not present reasoning for a lot of his opinions, which is very much true. At the same time however, you do this a lot too in the video so I would not consider it a valid point when being made in the larger context of the video. You then get on to the final point of the video: people take this as fact. I completely agree that this is an appeal to authority and not a good way to justify an argument, but that is completely independent of wolfy. It isn't Wolfy's fault if the <1% take his opinions as objective fact given by the gods (Which is also how you assume that he is putting them across as), but I concede the fact that as a creator with a large following within the community, he is required to take a degree of responsibility for his community. In response to this it is worth pointing out that he has always discouraged hate, so for the most part he can't be faulted for other people given that he has done as much as he can to encourage the opposite. Thus I would like to sum up the three main points I put across: - Your argument relies on the assumption that all people (including wolfy) view and play the game at a competitive level (Which goes against the context of his ranking) - Most of the rankings are based off of Wolfy's individual proficiency with each character, thus making objective means of ranking unnecessary given the context of the tierlists - Wolfy is not at fault for destroying the community as a result of his opinion, rather it is the community taking his opinion to be fact
I would like it to be known i made videos about bad characters and i got 50+ kill streaks with them like genuinely he just sucks at the game and since he has a fan base that will ride him until the grave that means word gets spread witch means they listen without second thought
