Ed, great point at the end. When, or if, they bring in a new manager I hope he is allowed to bring in his own coaches. I’m tired of hearing, if you want the job you have to keep this coach.
I would tell people that Rick was trying to do things and Kenny was stopping him. Everyone would tell me I didn’t know what was talking about. I’ve been a fan of this team for 68 years and I’ve seen a lot of bad owners but Jerry’s problem was that he promised Kenny’s parents that he would take care of Kenny to get him signed. You can’t be that loyal to sign any player. Baseball is still a business.
The highest profit margin in the history of MLB was year one of the Astros when they tore down a decade ago. We won’t even see a another Fedde contract this off-season
Until Jerry Reinsdorf is pushing up daisies or coating interior of an urn, the White Sox will remain one of the most inept, poorly run professional sports franchises in MLB history. The sad, misguided (but predictably) Reinsdorfian move, of rewarding the man who oversaw a horribly managed minor league system... devoid of any notable position player development, leaves me with little to no confidence in the WS attaining notable (MLB playoff caliber) competitive improvement
I'm a Giants' fan. At least we are having a discussion as to whether Farhan Zaidi should be given his unconditional release. Getz is giving Sox fans no sign of hope for a brighter future. As for Jerry Reinsdorf, what does one say about a man who enabled the 1994 players' strike to continue (with some help from Bud Seleg)? Reinsdorf is easily the worst White Sox owner since Charles Comiskey, who didn't believe in paying good players what they're worth.
Who cares what their record is look towards the future stop talking about this garbage everybody knew they were going to be bad including you and he did change the team and it was still bad oh well they will get better and they will be winning in a few years so calm down
Chris Getz should be removed after the Erick Feede, Michael Kopech trade. They could have got a nice deal with the Twins for Erick Feede. The White Sox should of held on to Michael Kopech to the 2025 trade deadline. I think Chris Getz did well on the Dylan Cease trade. I think Drew Thorpe will be an good starter long term. I would like for the White Sox to hire Kim Ng.
I hope this Sox team doesn't drive Hawk Harrelson to an early grave. As far as this team setting a modern day losing percentage goes - You can put it on the board. Yes!
Unfortunately, these players are getting paid a lot & they will just move on not caring they were part of the worst team of all time, and Jerry doesn’t haven’t many years left to wear the shame either. All the fans will be left to carry the burden of this embarrassing franchise for a long, long time.
You guys are right. Getz is just starting and he was stuck with players that were on the roster from the last regime. I think we have to see what money he is giving next year and see what he does with it.
I’m so glad that this is attached to getz tenure. No more reinsdorf buddies. Nothing within this organization will ever change without outside input At The Top…..
I, believe what you are seeing right now are the results of Kenny and Rick's actions. Getz has to wear this season, its not entirely his fault, in my opinion
Brings up players for one day before wasting a player option, didn’t get anything from St. Louis in a 3 team trade, and the biggest piece from said trade can’t play defense (which he said was a team top priority). If that wasn’t enough, they lost 21 straight games and will set the modern era record for losses. He seems like a nice guy, but we all know the saying and it’s proving truer than ever.
No he should keep his job this team was always going to be bad no matter who the GM was I think he's actually doing a decent job let him do it this is the very beginning of a rebuild
