I drive my own vehicle but according to the website GRAB is available in KK. If you ever find yourself in a Thai city without GRAB there is another service with an app called BOLT which works well.
Rayong is the wealthiest province in Thailand and it is has tons of beaches so prices may be slightly higher. Tons of tourists but vast majority are Thai.

Thank you for this video. Always running videos, finally a video of everyday wear. Had Hoka Bondi 8, and they killed my feet, and ankles everyday. I work in surgery, and a foot doc, he gave me the Altra zero drop. An absolute world of forgiveness! Will try these out!
I like the Lone Peaks best for all around wear including some trail running but for working in a hospital I'd recommend Riveras or late model Torins (6 and after).
I think maybe you should talk about if the taco was good or not. You opened up the taco. It looks slimy and all you said is The taco tastes like how you make it. How do we know what it tastes like?
You make a good point, I should have described the taco. It was not necessarily to my liking but different people have different tastes, can you believe how popular the Jack-in-the-Box taco is? It actually has a cult following. I prefer authentic Mexican street tacos but there are a lot of people who would like the ecuatoriano taco I'm sure.
The XF100 only has 1/3" CMOS Sensor (XA70 has 1 inch) and can be purchased on B&H website for $759, how is it ruined by XA70? The XF100 records 1080P while the XA70 is 4K. Pay less get less pay more get more is typical in the camera world.
@@dagwoodstreets I’m talking about ergonomics and usability, not image specs, which are always going to improve over time. When they cannibalized and crammed the XF100 into an XA style body, making the XF400-XA75 bodies that we have now, they removed the “prosumer” features that made the XF100 so good, namely the quick access to essential settings that were in a row of buttons on the bottom and rear of the camera. These features are now buried in the menu, the same way it is on the consumer camcorders, which is annoying. Then they took away the appropriate placement of the viewfinder from on top of handle, moving it to the rear of the camera, which may not seem like a big deal, but it is if you actually plan to use it for any extended period of time, or angles other than right in front of your face. I ran an XF100 for 5 years for all kinds of stuff from skateboarding, to doc, to sports, and it was a great camera in its day! Made the mistake of selling it. Missed out on the XF205, which is a bummer because that is pretty much the most perfect prosumer camcorder design that was ever made. Then in 2018 I ended up with a G21 for the times I needed a simple camcorder again, not an interchangeable lens system, but it never was as usable as that XF100, because of the lack of direct access buttons. Funny thing is that now I have an XF605, and while I think it’s a good camera that produces a nice image, and have been having plenty of fun using it, there are times when I need something smaller. Plus they messed up big time by not including the XF205's rotating side grip on the XF605. It’s 2024 and I just bought an XF100 again! Maybe the last new in box one in the world, but I found it! One of the recurring projects I shoot is outdoors, 1080p, web delivery, where all of the other cameras are GoPros. My XF605 and FX6 are straight up overkill for that. The FX3 works, but it is then limited in lens options, because I want that camcorder "documentary zoom in and out" look. The XA75 is not an option because of lack of physical exposure controls, I might as well just use that G21. Ideally they would release a 4K update to both the XF105 and XF205, without changing the bodies at all. I’d buy at least one of each!
Thanks for that interesting insight! I've owned many camcorders over the years from various brands but this is my first Canon XA model and I've never owned XF. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge because there is not enough info out there on these cameras.
@@dagwoodstreets Yeah today is a weird time for camcorders. They've essenetially been abandoned since 2017 or so. The XF605 was the last substantial innovation to camcorders that's been made, and it came out in 2021, but it was also long overdue. I'm very much so hoping that if canon is going to insist on redoing old bodies, that they throw the XF605 feature set in the XF105 and XF205 bodies and call it a day. I'd be okay with that. I do also want to see an upgrade to the Sony lineup, with a 3CCD camera that has 4K 10 Bit S Cinetone, but I'm also thinking it just isn't going to happen. They may have totally abandoned camcorders, in favor of the interchangeable lens systems. Don't get me wrong, my FX6 is about all the camera I could ask for, but it also is huge! Sometimes life just calls for a smaller camera, which is why I love the XF100 so much, but don't love the XA75. The XF100 was the sweet spot for "prosumer" camcorders - then the XF205 kinda expanded on that, and made for a more professional model. Again, wish I could have a modern version of both!
Vaseline was suggested to me by the pool company technician to keep the rubber ring sealed, IDK if it's effective or not because I didn't try it. Do you have personal experience applying Vaseline to the seal? Thanks for watching & commenting!
Maaan, ive just came across your video and have watched it at least 5 times. Youved touched on all my complaints regarding pentair pool filter design. I bought my house in 2011, it came with a 30k gallon pool, first couple of years i paid someone to service it. I eventually bit the bullet and decided to buy equipment so that i can service my own pool. I could not believe the process that was associated with backwashing and maintaining the filter. Im not a pool filtrt engineering but i aint no dummy either, i have a mechanical engineering degreed and have worked as manufacturing engineer for 15 plus years. Of the bat, i was able to identify some improvements in design. I dont believe but i KNOW that a more efficient filter is possible 😊
Thanks for the XA70 review. I own a Sony A6600. But was thinking of switching to XA70 for my long term travel across southeast Asia and mostly shooting videos for RU-vid. Probably without the xlr handle to make it look smaller. What's your opinion? Should I use a camcorder or just stick with my old Sony? What I like about the camcorder is the built in zoom lens, ND filter, good internal mic, good stabilization, longer battery life and 1 inch sensor already good for me.
Depends on what you're filming. If you don't care about compactness and weight and plan to shoot long videos using a tripod then XA70 because it will not overheat and great focal length. What would I do if I already owned your Sony A6600 and was looking for something to complement it for video? DJI Osmo Pocket 3 all day long. I did not take my XA70 to Thailand last trip and wished I had but I'm not backpacker, I own a truck and have a residence in Thailand so I'll have it with me this trip. If you bring the XA70 definitely take the XLR handle with it for better handling & audio; it's not large or heavy to pack.
@@dagwoodstreets Thanks for your suggestion. Yeah I also liked the DJI P3 but it lacks an optical zoom. I was planning a train travel from my country (Malaysia up to China by train with family in a few months (hopefully). Just trying to select the best cam for our epic journey that only be done once in a lifetime. Back in 2017, we managed to travel by land up to Laos but focused 90% on photography and forgot how important video is nowadays. Thanks for replying and just subs.
Oh cool, I've always wanted to make the train trip from Singapore to Bangkok. I'm kinda the opposite and focus more on video but I'm starting to realize relatives may be more likely to flip through photos 20 years from now than watch my videos. Enjoy your trip!
Basically that is part of the plan. Pentair wants pool owners to buy a filter every 4-6 years. Which I call bullshit, dropping 1400 every 4 years isn't going to happen, AT ALL
Totally agree. These units are the biggest pains in the a$$. Time consuming, cumbersome and the damn tbolt always gets stripped as well as the barrel nut. The main drain for the unit is a pos plastic jobber. Gets all warped first time removed. Great video. My father in law has a Jandy that takes 4 minutes from start to finish.

very nice sir. although i own some mirrorless cameras, i shoot most of the time with my XA50. it's just a complete package i.e. xlr handle for better sound, nd filters, zoomable lens.

Yes I do but for specific scenarios such as recording your kid's soccer games, long videos or "set it and forget it" situations. -Pros are battery life, zoom and simplicity. Also the ability to use XLR microphones via the handle is fantastic. -Cons are lack of full frame or APSC sensor (1 inch sensor still bigger than most camcorders), size and low light capability. The XA70 is best for BTS or making long recordings outdoors in daylight.

As far as compared to other camcorders in this price range I do recommend the XA70, mainly because of the 1 inch sensor. I have a Canon R8 as well and sometimes combine footage so the colors match well.
First off, the specs on this are huge. Can you make it work for a VLOG, sure. Can you make anything your heart desires, sure. This is a power house camera. Whatever negatives you say about it are negated by someone else's opinion and real world experience. So if it works for your VLOG or whatever, great, if not there are plenty of other VLOG cameras out there. The problem with this camera compared to the other G cameras and other XA cameras is something no-one is talking about and it is how short the zoom is. If this were a 20X zoom camera it would be one of the hottest selling cameras on the planet. Canon listen, 20X is a standard zoom point. Contact me day or night and I will help you fix this. 15X is better than 10X, but in all honesty it's way better to always have a little bit more than you think you need. I love the inputs I think they are amazing, but this is the only thing that keeps people in the G and XA60 lines of Canon. We will sacrifice audio inputs for zoom every day of the week. And again, all my negatives are negated by someone who needs ND filters and the Dual Pixel AF and not need 20X zoom. Bokeh? That is not even what this camera is intended for. Who is it it intended for? Maybe television run and gun style reporting? Side Story. I ran into a Gannett photographer that told me they are not renewing their CPS. They are going all Sony. End of side story. If you need Bokeh and video from Canon, a 5R C might get you what you are looking for. So, what was the purpose if not to build on the XA60 line? I honestly have no idea. Maybe to bridge the gap to the Canon XF605. Now you are talking $1599 (XA60), $2,799 (XA75), $4,299 (XF605). And that makes sense. And honestly, those cameras for VLOGGING will not beat a $1,099 Canon G70. Then you have $1700 to have whatever mic, lighting, you could dream of. Heck you could go two Canon G70s, and a Ninja5+/Xcast switcher and make a killer VLOG setup.

I love to put the XA 70 on a tripod and just let it roll at 1080P to use for behind-the-scenes or projects I'm doing around the house; for example right now I am building a greenhouse and I documented it with the XA 70. With that long lasting battery it is excellent for that purpose. I don't know if you noticed this but when I roll my R8 the exact same amount of time as my XA 70, the XA 70 uses a bit more data which I thought was kind of odd because you're comparing a 1 inch sensor to full frame.
