Het is zijn overtuigende spreken over God's liefde voor ons. Als we daarin echt geloven is alle oorlog voorbij. Of eerlijker: dan deert Putin ons niet meer. Ik bid voor de mensen in de Oekraïne.
Heb net zijn biografie gelezen en zijn gepreek komt eigelijk hier op neer : We zien een homosexuele gefrustreerde man die zich van kinds af aan minderwaardig heeft gevoeld en nu de aandacht nodig heeft die zijn ouders hem niet gaven omdat hij anders was..
Goedzo, ben zelf een geschiedenis leraar en je hebt gelijk. Uit de kast komen is pas zegening....Deze man was idd te lief voor woorden en was goed gekomen als die naar pride was gegaan hoor. Dus prachtig en ontroerend, als we elkaar nooit zien in het paradijs, dankjewel voor de diepe rakende goede echt goede woorden lol!

Henri would have said that, yes, Jesus is the archetype of Belovedness. But then he would point out that Jesus gives everything that he knows and is, to us. He would quote Scripture: "As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. . . . I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete. . . ." John 15:9 Jesus doesn't force his belovedness on us. It's a choice: accept or reject this promise, that we are made in God's image.
How can anyone say this man did not know God? So easy to get caught up in dogma and "theological correctness." Get our of your head. There are some people--you read their objections and need to be right.....one can only imagine them falling to absolute jelly and peeing their pants when they meet Jesus and realize how unexpectedly loving and nonjudgmental he is.
