In addition to the Heffalump movie, 100 Acre Wood also references other spinoff films; a couple of themes and locations in KH2 are lifted straight from Pooh’s Grand Adventure, and in KH3 Tigger’s triangle button animation in his minigame is actually the Whoop-dee-Dooper-Loop-de-Looper-Alley-Ooper bounce from The Tigger Movie, down to the animation smears. Honestly, I really like 100 Acre Wood’s approach of adapting a whole Disney *franchise* spinoffs included, rather than just one specific movie like most worlds tend to do. Even more bizarrely, and I don’t know if this should count or not, but in all versions of KH2, the Whoop-de-Dooper Bounce song is listed in the credits even though it’s never used in the game. Just a little fun fact

Today’s comment section Doctor Who episode (is that what we call these?) is completely random, because you have given me no request and I have nothing related to this video. S5 E9: Into the Dark The TARDIS is travelling through space. It looks fairly normal, until the camera pans around the TARDIS, and reveals a black hole is sucking it in. The TARDIS is still very far away from the black hole, but it’s a black hole, what can they do? TARDIS interior. Alarms going off, lights flashing red. The Doctor shouting something. The TARDIS gets sucked into a black hole. Roll intro. I actually hadn’t planned out that cold open, and you probably could tell. But still, it gets the point across, and now we get to the interesting bit. The screen is black. Suddenly, lights come on, and we see the TARDIS interior. The Doctor and companion are clutching the handrails. The companion speaks. C: We aren’t… dead. D: Well, we aren’t supposed to be. C: It’s a black hole. Don’t they kill you? D: I don’t know. But we aren’t dead, so clearly, we’re not supposed to be. Unless this is hell. C: Of course you assume we’re in hell. You know, we could be in heaven. D: No. The Doctor walks to the door, and opens it. C: Why would you do that? You could’ve killed us! D: Yeah, but I didn’t. The Doctor walks out. D: Oh. The companion grabs a flashlight, and follows the Doctor outside They’re in the TARDIS. They’ve walked out of the TARDIS, into the TARDIS. In other words, the TARDIS is in the TARDIS. The TARDIS (outside) is older than the TARDIS (inside). It’s dustier, and filled with cobwebs. The Doctor and companion explore the TARDIS. I’m running out of time and phone battery, so here’s a quick explanation of the rest of the episode. The HADS activates, and the TARDIS (the regular one without the dust) leaves. The Doctor decides that it can’t have left the Black Hole TARDIS. They search for a bit, those things from Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS show up, they find the regular TARDIS in a cupboard, they leave, the end. There is an explanation for this episode.

Deep Jungle - Great world theme and boss fights, frustrating platforming 10. Monstro - Mostly forgettable but the Riku stuff is interesting 9. Olympus Colliseum - Memorable boss fights but not much story significance or creativity here 8. Neverland - Not a huge fan of being stuck in the ship most of the world, although the story, bosses, and music are undeniably great 7. Destiny Islands - A great moodsetter for the rest of the game 6. Wonderland - I really like the whimsical nature of Wonderland and the fun gimmicks throughout the world 5. Halloween Town - The music never gets old. 4. End of the World - A great final stage, although overshadowed by Hollow Bastion 3. Agrabah - A personal favorite of mine, love the cave of wonders and the extra boss fights in this world 2. Traverse Town - The coziest place in the KH series 1. Hollow Bastion - Perfection.

Since this episode (episode, series of shorts, mini series, whatever it is) that I’ve never once heard of has the ‘classic alien design’, today’s imagined episode of the comments section is S5 E2: Unidentified Flying Object Arriving at the launch of a spacecraft in the year 2167, the Doctor and companion step out of the TARDIS, and into the busy NASA office. The spacecraft is set to be the first to travel out of the solar system. The Doctor, in typical Doctor fashion, realises that they’re a few days late. The spaceship is well on its way. A large screen shows the view from the spaceship. Something comes into the screen. A large, round disc, hurtling at the spaceship. The spaceship crashes into the disc, sending it hurtling through space. The screen goes blank. “Was that- was that a UFO?” The TARDIS arrives at the nearest Unit Headquarters. They’re already tracking the flying saucer, and it’s a few days from earth. I really can’t be bothered to write a description of global panic. Eventually, the aliens arrive. They make standard sci fi alien demands- take me to your leader, give us cattle for no reason, become our slaves, etc etc. You probably haven’t forgotten this, but I’ll remind you anyway- The Doctor is president of Earth during interplanetary/extraterrestrial crises. So, take me to your leader=take me to the Doctor. The Doctor and the alien leader arrange a meeting place. It’s the Eiffel Tower. Because why not. They do pretty standard negotiations. The alien leader gives the Doctor a small bit of paper. After the meeting, the Doctor reads it. The paper reveals it all. The aliens weren’t aliens at all. The spaceship launched at the beginning of the episode crashed into the aliens and went into a wormhole. They landed on a habitable planet 2000 years in the past. They built a civilisation there. Their descendants eventually developed perception filters and spaceships. They returned to Earth, intent on using the perception filters to disguise them as classic sci fi aliens, to hide the fact that humans had had to evolve over 2000 years into unrecognisable beings. On their way back, they crashed into their ancestors, restarting the cycle. The Doctor runs towards the departing flying saucer. “Wait!” “Wait!” In one final move of desperation, he uses the sonic screwdriver to get rid of the perception filter. And he sees why the alien-humans had to use it.

I JUST watched this again the other day, so this was a fun surprise here! I never knew it (and Dreamland) was on the bonus disc in the cheap complete Tennant Blu-Ray collection that came out a few years ago, and honestly, I think it holds up better than I remembered. It’s nothing to write home about, but I wish we got more stuff like this over the years. Considering how much animation we’ve gotten over the last 6 or so years for the show, I’m shocked we haven’t gotten anything to fill in the gaps between seasons. Maybe these two stories didn’t perform very well?

S4 E5: The Stage of Fire (Bit of an experimental one, but it’s the only one that canonically has the Master in it and you did request the Master) This episode comes right after a companion of 2 and a third seasons’ exit (S2 E0-S4 E4). The Doctor is travelling alone. If you’ve ever seen an official video of a theatre production, that’s how this episode is shot: The camera focused on the stage, you can see a few members of the audience, and the live orchestra. The episode wouldn’t have a normal title sequence or credits. The title of the play (The Architect’s Dream) would appear on screen, before fizzing out and being replaced by the episode title. The Doctor walks on stage, wearing a mask. He introduces the play, and says that he will play the Architect, as, unfortunately, the usual actor is sick. The Architect’s Dream follows a young man on a planet (unnamed) who wishes to build a spaceship. He knows that the aristocrats and lords have spaceships, but they will not reveal their secrets to the public. He promises to build his own, and fly to the stars. He gains support from the village he lives in, and he spends the first part of the play building his ship. The government of his planet finds out about his ship, and attempt to destroy it. The village protest against this, and during the rioting, the Architect makes an escape. He flys to the stars, just as he said he would. Years later, the planet remembers the architect. The government open a school for anyone who wants to have their own spaceship. The End. In the final act of the production, the play goes wrong. Somebody sabotages a prop hanging from the ceiling of the theatre. The prop falls and breaks on the stage. Inside the prop is the TARDIS. The Doctor runs into the TARDIS, and it begins to dematerialise. Someone says “Turn the camera off, you idiot!” The usual credits are replaced by the play’s cast. Included in the long list of actors who played the villagers is the Master.

When they arrive, however, they find it grey and barren. “It looks like the aftermath of a battle. But who would go to war here?” Says the Doctor. His foot hits something metal.
