I'll be 60 this year and just had my first go on an MX track, (my neighbour built one on my boundary so there was no choice really), have done trail riding for years then got into ADV's but always wanted to try MX, I had a blast, so much fun being on a light 450 again after a 200kg+ ADV bike.
i could tell instantly. not bad for your first time. You gotta hold that clutch in more. Dont be scared of the front end coming up. If you start to loop, just let off the throtle. Put as much weight as you can on the front end of the bike, rev up, and then dump the clutch.
For my bikes, 4 wheelers, and SxS, I have always put so much oil on my air filter that it is almost dripping off. Doing this I have to clean and re-oil the filter more often than my buddies. They say I am putting too much oil on it, but I argue that This is proof that my extra oil is catching more dirt. Am I wrong? Can you put too much oil on the filter? Thanks, Trav
I bought an 87 yz250 that sat for 2 years and wouldn't start and paid $200 for it. Had it for 30 minutes riding it around the block and it was running strong. A year later still have the bike still runs strong and am confident the bike will start when out on the trails and track. Nice complete dirtbike with a powerful engine and suspension sucks but its in good condition just 80s suspension is miles behind 90s and 2000s suspension that im used to riding
Went to the track today on my 16 yr old sons YZ125....a 2003 model. Rebuilt it this winter for him and since he was busy i stole it for "testing purposes " today....😂
Only thing bad at this engine was the clutch basket & some ball bearings. But that problems cannot happen after 300 hours it was already f@cked up, when you open the engine. Now from you? Or from the first owner. My WRF450CC 06' im the 2nd owner 4/5 years I change basics & fix valves +new oil every month maybe. But you muricans *GOD what a victims* you all change things like if you was running for red bull in motocross racing 😂😅 I know cuz I was running with RM 125CC 96 ' When the year was 96' .No 4strokes back then only good stuff light & fast 2strokes,if broken we opened fixed on the top of mountain😂where the event was(easy& fast)vs 4strokes heavy difficult to fix +always problems the newest model the more problems. Bad English sorry but I had better things 2do....Lmao 😂😅
Now my opinion about ALL yamaha engines not YZF ,all the rest it's stupid 2 change pistons, valves, every some hundred of hours. U change filters air and oil filter, U change your oil every 1000hours if you are non't professional rider,& you look your valves every year, same thing your clutch rings that's all. Don't throw your money for NO reason STOP being victims
I have a 2015 model XR150L here in South Africa. It's been my daily rider as well as occasional adventure bike. I've fitted a one tooth smaller front sprocket which slightly improves its acceleration (revs don't drop off as much when engaging the next higher ratio) while still attaining the same top speed of 112km/h (65mph?) I get 40km/L (90mpg?) which is twice as economical as my old Honda 400 TransAlp. Besides the usual wear & tear items, i.e. tyres and disk pads, I've not spent a cent on mine and it hasn't seen a bike dealership as I do my own basic maintenance, i.e. tyres, oil changes, air filters and spark plugs. Mine's done about 24000km (15000 miles) to date and still has its original battery. I'd rate it as good as any other Honda I've ever owned, which includes an XL125, CRF230 and a 650 TransAlp. Anyone who thinks they're Chinese clones, doesn't realise that the Chinese bikes have been cloned from THESE XRs, that have been around for the last decade.
hey there! I recently purchased this same headlight and its going on a 23 Wr250F in place of the old stock headlight. since the WR doesn't come with a headlight controller, can you somewhat explain how you wired it up? Did you add the controller and wire it straight to the battery or tap into switched hot? Anything would be greatly to point me in the right direction. Also when I hooked up the DRL light, then started the bike, the DRL was slightly flickering. Have you ever experienced that with yours? I haven't been able to track down the WR's wiring diagram to figure out the best spot to tap in or if the headlight is being pulled from the capacitors power or from the battery's power?
Wow what a piss poor way to build and engine if the hammer was not enough maybe try a Jackhammer!!!! A 5 five year old child could have done a nicer job you should be ashamed of yourself really and to flimed it and let others watch it how sad for you. Your choice of music just makes it more boring Wow Maybe if he bits his nail more it might help
