As a nursing student who has had clinical rotations in the ER, I would also carry something with sugar or fast acting carbs with me always if I was prone to hypoglycemia.
As a 21 year old who wants to become one of these nurses or doctors and my mom says no it’s hard I would never give up on my dream to help people in big ways

As a nurse, ED or otherwise, I will not treat a patient that is in pain that as an addict. I was carried in with a possible fix knee. All was great until X-rays were clear then I was told, well. Guess you got your daily hit. I’d never been there before
Talk to surgeons and then you’ll get some real life. What it’s like to be on calm with no sleep / with 7 year brutal residencies respect for all healthcare providers for the most part but mad respect for surgeons. I have a loved one who is surgery resident right now- surgeons are super human heroes
