Yes I do but I can't do the same thing for more than a decade. I miss the people and banter but not the responsibility and expectations some people bring

Just found your video, Austin. Very nice indeed. I purchased a Mutar 2X in the late 1990's to use on my 250mm CF and was very disappointed with the reduction in image quality. Only used it about 5 times and it is still in it's box. Wanted the 500mm CF but they were very expensive. Move forward 25 years and I purchased the 500mm CF. I actually like the high key images you took from the bridge without a yellow filter. I have moved from Delta 100 back to FP4+ and develop in 510 Pyro. The 250mm CF is a great lens as long as you can minimise all vibration.

I like your photos. I too have been toying with the Idea of using the half dark slide. I had forgotten that they even existed until a few weeks ago. Amazon has them for about fifteen bucks.

V interesting. I remember seeing a photo essay from possibly Don MCullin years ago that was pushed tri x and I think it was developed in rodinal for that distinctive look. Images emerged from a blizzard of grain and it suited the subject really well in that instance.

XP-2 has pretty good cloud definition, as though shots are taken through a yellow filter. Yes, 1/125th was too slow and the wind too strong.

This just popped up as a recommendation on YT as I was having my morning cuppa, very enjoyable. An epic location which I have been to a couple of times - great to see someone not shooting the obvious shots, good watch - loved the images. I am not a film shooter. atb Alan

Austen : I have a 90mm and I use it a lot , the others are the 50mm DR Summicron , and the 35mm Ultron 1.7 those are my commonly used lenses right now.

The only way I can understand this is if you're cropping to a 6x17 RATIO (actually something like 3x9 cm)? Would have been nice to see the original 6x9 before 'cropping' ;-}

Do you use stand with 35 mm ? I tried it a couple of years ago and discovered the true meaning of bromide drag !
@mike1902
@mike1902 4 месяца назад
@@AustenGoldsmithPhotography hi I don’t shoot much 35mm these days but when I do I tend to use a stainless steel reel and tank and use a 1:100 ratio. Constant agitation for the first 45 seconds then agitate for 10 seconds at the halfway stage - about 30 minutes. Not a quick process but it does mean you can vary the iso rating on a single roll of film and still get very good negs for scanning or printing.

Austen thank you for giving me encouragement .... I do not have a dark room or wet room , so I send things out and the costs are insane. I have to start imaging at least scanning somehow in my tiny home. Cheers and again thank you ; Chris

@lensman5762

Quite beautiful photography, very classic combination. I recently tried a few rolls of Tri-X after nearly thirty years, and I was not excited by the results. I find the HP5 more subtle. I also tried the HP5 last week in Perceptol stock ( I used to use X-Tol 1+1 for HP5), no dilution and iso200. Absolutely beautiful tonality and fine grain for a fast film. Worth a try.

Again a super video, with actual photos! My age has ended, carrying heavy gear! Truth tell, I am lazy and seldom ever, dragged that nonsense! My M3 (ziggy) after 57 years, It got named! The 50mm and 35mm Summaron! I seldom carry extra film! No tripod, so long exposures a big NO! Get healed! Less is better! Bravo!
