My nieces and nephews born here in USA. They speak and understand limited Lao but they attended Sabaidee Fest 2 years in a roll. I love seeing them embrace in Lao music and Lao culture. This is a great event. ❤👍
Hmong Americans be too obsessed with hmong lao and hmong thai artists when we have the very best hmong artists here in the states. David Yang and Chenning are the best. This guy has same beats and same music. None of his songs are catchy. Overrated.
We have talented artists here but their styles are so very different from overseas artists. Chenning and David have a strong r&b sound with Americanized music. PAP's music has a strong Lao/Thai influence and he has more "fun" song that are upbeat. And PAP is a whole vibe. He has so much confidence on stage. I don't see that in our artists here.
@@anon2095Say it louder to these people! Why they be hating on Pap? Music is universal so like what ever genre and support whichever artist you like. Why always trying to bring each other down. Hmong people be talking hella trash about their own artists but get mad when other race look down on their artists. David and Chenning killing with Hmong American genre, while Pap is doing the same with his Thai style music. 😒
I think Hmong artists from here feel undervalued. No matter how popular they are, making music doesn't pay enough in our small community. We dont have big corporations to sponsor these artists to make big bucks. Yasmi for example. She doesn't even do concerts or create music anymore. She said she makes significantly more money with her store. So it may sting some of these artists when they see Hmong meskas fans giving so much attention and money to overseas artists like Win and Huab. They wonder why we don't behave like that with them. I can only speak for myself but if I like your music, it doesn't matter to me where you are from. I do feel more empathy for overseas artists though because they lack opportunities and other ways to make a living in their country. We know that the money we give them goes such a long way in improving their situation. Also overseas artists are more of a novelty. When they come to America only once every few years, fans are naturally much more excited to see them and willing to pay more.
David and Chenning are nowhere near as versatile as PAP. You can put PAP in any song regardless of musical genre and it'll be a banger. He's the best all around hmong artist right now and it ain't even close anymore. Just like PAP's idol, he is the modern day maim lis but on steroid.
