Erica Caines has embodied an incredible presence and intellect when I have had a chance to hear her speak at length. Her discussion of the Harris/Trump debate and its implications was the best I have seen by far. I am not about making people who are busy doing the work into people who have to deal with parasocial layers... but it would be like an oasis to hear that perspective and voice in full gear more often :) In fact I am now even more impressed, watching EC doing something which most people possessing that kind of scholarly fire cannot do: listening. I wish Ajamu had been our VP in 2016. I'm glad he was there to verify the process with the ID cards verified, the digital AND paper copies used which is far more than US process. Maduro volunteering now to allow independent verification of the voting process is again far more than we have in the US. I wonder if Juan Guaidó will in stalled as US president this time.

The US focuses on control of strategic resources (oil)! Sanctions coupled with US currency can cause people who are compromised to the point of starvation to opt out of social freedom for eating as a slave of the people who enacted the sanctions and passing around US currency, like what has traditionally been done in major cities across the USA just to get someone’s vote! Imperialism can cause the oppressed to behave like a dog! You have not even touched on the real reasons America does not want a non-white Maduro to lead Venezuela!

I like this guy. My only problem with all this is the identification of 'the West' with capitalism. That is simply disingenuous. Russia is a capitalist fascist/nationalist/far rigtht/religious right - run country. China is state capitalist with no social benefits. So if Maduro was actually ideological in stead of just clinging to power for personal reasons he would turn his back on them in order to avoid further sanctions, and take steps to approach the EU, Australia and South Asia to build bridges with social democracies and other democratic nations. Jailing people for their political opinions is always on the wrong side of history. This will *never* change. So if any of you people were honest about ideology you would stop shilling for Putin and Russia. This man is either blind, stupid or in with Maduro. This number of people don't protest for nothing. I know 100s of Venezuelans and am in contact with many in the country. The majority want Maduro out but they knew he wouldn't let go. Dictators never do. The US left Venezuela alone for 25 years. Now the majority of Venezuelans are asking for help. The US needs to do more in this case. Free Venezuela!
I love that Ajamu did the interview, but it amazes me that folks actually think Kim Iverson is on the left in any way. She seems to me like a libertarian and most libertarians lean to the right or are rightwingers.
