Years ago, some scout group climbed all of the Glasshouse peaks in one day. Including Crookneck. As best man, took the groom up Croockie, for his bucks night for his last adventure before marriage. Consider circumnavigating all the Glassies, including Coolum, that may be fun.
Both of them have most difficulty at start. It's confidence in your climbing ability, rather than bravery, we were stoned out of our brains which helped with the nerves. Get yourself some climbing shoes and get to Kangaroo Pt. and do some top roping. For the slabs on Beerwah, go to Girraween and do some of the Pyramid slabs. Being on top of mountains, rivals sex. Specialy, Barney, Maroon, Grenville, Beerwah and Tibro. Once came upon a single pregnant woman doing the Caves Route on Tibro. The hardest bit on that is topping out. Be nice to experienced climbers and they will get you to tie in.
Grew up and lived in Newcastle/Lake Mac for 40 years, it's sad seeing how it looks now, ugly boxy buildings, hideous murals, empty shops, decaying buildings, very depressing when I go back.
@@graymcmic1419 I’m always sad to see empty buildings in every city. Luckily there’s still plenty of natural beauty around. We are so lucky in Australia. 😊
Nice, like the graphic showing the route. Consider circumnavigating Beerwah, you go anticlockwise, there was no formal track, just follow old forestry tracks till you get to eastern side, then things start to deteriorate and you have to bush bash your way back to car as best you can. Navigation is simple, keep the mountain on your left. The western side is particularly interesting for mountaineering, we used to climb to the summit that way occasionally. That way to the top is only suitable to the expert or suicidal.
Newcastle is a beautiful city and a great place to live. We actually live in Lake Macquarie which is the next city area south of Newcastle and is part of the Greater Newcastle area. Newcastle has beautiful beaches and open spaces, great facilities, but don’t tell too many people or we’ll get swamped with too many coming to live here 7 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
How long did the walk take you?? I was thinking of doing this on my ebike. Was there alot of of road riding? or maily bike paths? Wasnt sure exactly where this walk comes out at at Samford either
I had 4 hours there and back but that was a lot of stopping to film and look at random things. I came in on Main St and left on Cash Ave. The roads were pretty quiet. An e-bike ride would be fun. Have a great ride!
What a lovely video. Thank you for showing some of Newcastle's best features. Lived here most of my life, Newy is the most under rated city in Australia,
@@livingandexploring looks belting, I'm a Geordie from Newcastle upon Tyne 🇬🇧 my city is beautiful, But I got to admit this looks beautiful Good video stay safe 👍
further I drive Coaches for Greyhound occasionally from Sydney to Brisbane and sure enough 95% of backpackers jump off in Byron. Whilst Byron is as beautiful I often think the 5% who jump off in Newy are the smarter ones and either in for the best shock or know something.
The natural landscape in nsw is a trillion times nicer then vic. Its night and day difference and not even comparable. Im leaving boring freezing melbourne to the central coast thank god. Newcastle is a beautiful city
