I didn't know I was a professor, ha ha! I really enjoyed the song and album reactions but I was getting burnt out the last few weeks, but it was fun while it lasted!
Unfortunately, it's not letting me make a new playlist, I will work on that once I get home tonight after work! Yes, it is very similar. There are no variations in the pattern of the bricks, it's exactly the same pattern repeated 3 times. It was pointed out to me that the pattern on 'Latte' matches more with the album cover of Terminal Jive.
Very cool Sparks book you created! I understand how hard it is to keep up with everyone on RU-vid as time is sometimes limited even for me, and I am retired! I had time this morning to watch your two latest videos. One idea you might consider is on a day off, perhaps do a few videos on an off day, and then space them out during the week so you can relax a bit more.
The theatre we had here is closed now. It had been around since the 60's... I haven't been to a theatre in over 6 years or more. Thanks for the kind words!
Pretty well any music loving baby boomer can tell you the origin of rock and roll, it evolved around us as we grew up, that is what I was talking about, I wish it was the 60's, 70's. 😎👍
We always wish we could go back to the good old days as humans we long for those things and we have a hard time adapting to change, at least it's like that with me. 😎👍
Cool video Morris and I pretty much agree with everything you said about the current state of mass media and youtube in general. Personally I've just about given up on new movies and music. But I still enjoy collecting physical media. Actually I'm amazed at how many good "old" cds and movies that I've discovered in the last few years that I never knew about when I was younger. And I've been around a long time. LOL! I also agree with you about what I call these fake "big time" youtubers and the pointless, plastic content they put out. And I agree with you about Larry Graves. I've been watching him for a few years and I've always enjoyed his channel because he is down to earth and I can tell he really loves the music he talks about. We need more youtubers like him and you.

can't wait to see how your album rankings evolve after a year, when you've had a chance to give deeper listens to the albums! Great work celebrating Sparks this month, and always!
Sparks for the win! I am kind of turned off King Gizzard at the moment as their latest album is out and you can't buy it on CD. They had the CD for sale on their website but it's been sold out for weeks... My top 10 Sparks songs at the moment, not in order, are Whippings and Apologies, Here In Heaven, My Baby's Taking Me Home, Hospitality On Parade, Confusion, The Amazing Mr. Repeat, Calm Before The Storm, You Were Meant For Me, Popularity and The Decline and Fall Of Me. I love that live verson of B.C. as Russell was so funny, ha ha. I agree your number one choice is so good, I think they beat the original.
I know, (Plagiarism) 'Angst' is a so good! By next year my rankings could totally change, especially once I get the albums I don't have yet. Yeah, I know what you mean about KG, I'll still get it whenever it gets released in the stores, I'm still impressed by them.

It appeals to the metalhead I use to be in the 80s and 90s, it's right up my alley. It's completely understandable if you're not into metal. Nothing wrong with that.

I have tried several times to rank all these albums and failed miserably. I know Indiscreet is my favourite and Lil' Beethoven my least favourite but as for the rest, I keep changing my mind.
By this time next year, I'm sure my ranking will change, as some things get better and others, although I can't see how, 'might' diminish. This rating system did help narrow things down.
Can't disagree with your rankings, although I even really like Interior Design, but like Terminal Jive it is lacking the Maels personalities. I think in time you will love all of the albums more like I have through the years.
@@morrisgautreau6704 I think you will warm up to Lil Beethoven. The songs are very repetitive but in a very cool way. "My Baby's Taking Me Home" was the highlight of both recent concerts I saw.

Exotic creatures of the deep. I don't like first 2 songs and We go dancing on this album. My favourite songs are It doesn't have to be this way and Take me for a ride.

After Hippopotamus and drip, i have to admit i didn't enjoy this as much. Some great moments though. I am thrilled and grateful for any material Sparks put out, they are legends to me but this one not as good as the previous 2 albums imo. Great cover pics again. Can't wait for next years offering and movie hopefully. What a career,
This is my favourite 21st century album, love every song on it, just shades the next one for me as there are a couple of songs on Latte I always skip. I also kind of like that it's a long album, I like to get value for my money lol.
This is the album that has my favourite album cover just for the shear absurdity of someone actually having a hippo in their pool, I think it's so funny.
Weirdly I don't know much about Franz Ferdinand, and I'm Scottish, but I really like this album and completely agree with your rankings. Not that it matters what I think of course.
This was stupid and nothing wrong with stupid. 😀 I do some stupid videos that don't always connect with my viewers, ha ha... just do what you like and don't look back!
Excellent thumbnail. 😊 This album is so superb but I think the next one is the best of their later albums. P.S. All That is one of their greatest songs ever.
Excellent review. It's a great album but would be even better if they cut out a couple of songs as it's a long listen. Missionary Position, Scandinavian Design and The Amazing Mr. Repeat are my 3 favorites. All songs I like a lot.
For me, it's the 'intro' and 'last song' I would have cut from the album and maybe 'When You're A French Director', that could have been cut too. That would have made it shorter and better album.
I love hippopotamus, it's in my top 5 sparks albums. When sparks were discussing turning Annette into a film with Leos carax, he mentioned that he was a long time fan and asked if he could be on the album, which was already finished. So to accommodate him they wrote when you're a french director and added it onto the album. A couple of really good songs, check out time 11.am and you have earned the right to be a dick never made the final cut. Although the latter song was included on the Japanese cd and was released as a picture disc on vinyl for record store day at the time.
Film critic Roger Ebert once said how his books about the worse films way out sold his books about great ones. I guess boils down to the weird fascination we humans have lol.
It's true, I tend to like the weird, but I also like dark subjects, to a point. Like SPAWN as a movie was not as good as the animated HBO series, because it wasn't as 'graphic violence' enough!
FFS is absolutely entitled to be a Sparks album. More then Plagiarism in my advice. And it's a very good Sparks album (ranked 4th in my appreciation). Favorite song, Collaborations Don't Work followed by Look At Me (repeated 90 times, typical Sparks style). On Pissed Off Paul Thomson reveals himself as a great underrated drummer.
Yup, I do love this album and I do feel is it a Sparks album just as much as the rest and more than Plagiarism even, but it does have more F.F. than it does Sparks!
