UNH fan, tough to lose to your rival on the grandest stage, but what an amazing game! Forgot how tense it was through most of it. I remember at the time thinking that with how strong the UNH program was becoming, their turn would come. They got there again in 2003 and lost and now the program has lost its way. Here's hoping we can have another Maine-UNH title clash at some point in the future!
That was fun watching that I was there that day at the arrowhead pond, and it was so strange to see Maine versus our rival New Hampshire in California but what a game, I had forgotten how great it really was thanks for putting this on I truthfully have the ticket stub in my wallet still pretty faded but enough to wear you can see it Would love to see the program come back to those days it's been a while go black bears
Dickie or as he's called on here, Richard Britt, was my best friend. Today marks 22 years since he's been gone. I remember being out at a bar watching this game, and had no clue the guys would flash his 99 jersey and pic on National TV. I started bawling at the bar. I was also so proud of him and the guys bc winning this championship was all Dickie talked about. Thanks to the team for honoring Dickie. He was the best.
Oh, fill the steins to dear old Tulsa Shout till the rafters ring Stand and drink a toast once again Let every loyal Tulsa man sing Then drink to all the happy hours Drink to the careless days Drink to Tulsa, our alma mater The college of our hearts always To the trees, to the sky, to the Spring and its glorious happiness To the youth, to the fire, to the light that is moving and calling us To the gods, to the fate, to the rulers of men and their destinies To the lips, to the eyes, to the girls who will love us someday

So many memories. I remember watching this when it aired. He was a one of a kind. I'll never forget him. :( I'm very happy that someone actually recorded this moment. I recorded this myself back then, but no longer have the tape. :(
I agree so much with baby harmony's comment.😂 I went to a school in Fort Lauderdale, and the demographic population was 80% black, I was in the drum line and moved up to a nearly all white town called Sebring, and they were just whack. No excitement, nothing. That's the WHOLE point of being in a marching band. To get pumped up, and excited. I'm talking about being up in them stands, playing the ESPN theme song, and getting chills when the brass starts screaming. THAT IS WHAT BAND is all about.👌🏼
Graduated from limestone, but would go to the tournament every year with my dad. This band was always my favorite, this song especially. Mdi never ceased to impress me with their band.
