I like many different types of music, including R&B, R&R, Big Band, Jazz, and American Standards and have a very large music collection. If there is something in particular you would like me to upload, I will try to try to make it available.
IMO this is one of the most beautiful songs ever. There is another version on youtube in more recent years, just the two of them with only guitars, stripped down version is actually more beautiful than the early day studio version. A beautiful song that will never die.
This was my wedding song. He's no longer with us so randomly coming across this one day before what would have been our 18th Anniversary just melts my heart and tells me that we both miss each other
A sublime ballad, from a 'golden age' of popular music, sung by the incomparable legendary ,Nat King Cole. The music today doesn't 'hold a candle' to the sheer beauty of a timeless song like this.
For most of us, the dream of becoming a champion remains a fantasy. But for a special few, it is very much a reality. We cheer them. We live through them. Athletes are our last warriors. My job is to make their dreams come true. My name is Arliss Michaels. I represent athletes. These are my stories.
I remember when this song was current on the radio. I became a Linda fan in Aug 1970 (she was "newly" solo) when she appeared at the Greek Theatre in L.A. as one of several acts; I didn't know who she was until then. Her opening song made me an instant fan, and the next day I went out to buy her Hand Sewn Home Grown and Silk Purse albums, as "Long Long Time" was getting airplay. She frequently performed at The Palomino Club in North Hollywood, until she became too popular for so small/insignificant a venue. It quickly went from $3 cover charge for The Palomino Club's intimate stage, to $75 concert tickets at Universal Amphitheater and other venues. How fortunate that she lived for many years in CA and her appearances were easily attended by us... what a blessing!
