Okanagan outdoor adventures. This channel will consist of anything and everything I do outdoors hanmock camping, tarp shelters, bushcraft, survival, gear reviews, backcountry hiking, and camping.
I'm with you on the plow point shelter. It's my favorite also, especially when it comes to inclement weather and the cold. I prefer a low profile plow point. One thing I did learn from this is use of a line between two trees to hold the tarp up, thus eliminating the need for a center/off center pole. Good stuff.
@MADHIKER777 I honestly couldn't tell you. I haven't seen the kammock puffin I'm gonna have to check it out. I just really like the soft outer fabric of this and it's a tpu bladder not the stiff plasticy feel of inflatables. super comfortable and soft.
Tarptent moment DW but slightly heavier and slightly more expensive. Innovative design but alot of dodgy marketing, like you need a hammock for it to work like a hammock. The weight is only for the tent nothing else. Etc etc
more expensive then a tarptent moment dw 🤣 not even close they run what 500$ ooo not to mention duties and customs on top of that to get one to my doorstep in canada etc etc.... 😉
@@JTDOutdoors right now they are selling for $354USD (with crossing pole) and the Wind Anchor Pro is selling for $369usd after the early birds are over. Each country has their own issues with imports.
I am getting 3.07 lbs on the PRO version when you add fly sheet, and footprint. If you leave that fly sheet behind, it looks like water could easily come in with you. I still don’t see how this works on slickrock. My freestanding tent weighs 2.7lbs. Let see a 1p version - then i might bite.
For what it’s worth, I have pitched my non-free standing tarptent in places that stakes don’t work by utilizing rocks or whatever else was around. I imagine a 3lb free-standing tent costs a lot more than the tent in this video? If not I’m curious which tent.
I'm the same way Jeff, I don't care for packed campgrounds either! You hit the jackpot with your second site though! Such a beautiful spot! Great video buddy!!!!
Good observation, and thanks. The weights given here are misleading. It's a shame that this keeps happening with RU-vidrs who are supposed to give us truthful information to help us choose a product. Bad video.
Great location for a paid site. Fire is definitely a huge bonus. That carving came out awesome, your really getting skilled. Great job filming this one.
@BarkEater can't complain 4 nights in my hammock anywhere is worth it haha. surprisingly that's the first carving since we'll my first carving 🤣 new I needed something to kill time this trip.
not in the 3 season setup you can have a cookong area using the 4 season fly. shocking how so many people are concerned about cooking and eating where they sleep 🤣
Hello!👋👋 I'm have been looking for a tent nearly for some camping next summer! My previous tent broke when camped at sky in northern Scotland where the strong wind just killed my tent overnight and it became a pool😂😂😂😢😢. Now I'm looking for a new tent and I have been looking around on the internet, then I accidentally saw a post about the wind archer a day ago and you really is the only guy that rewiw it on the whole internet 🤯. I really liked the tent for it's wind proof and water proof but the only thing that worries me is the air conditioning on a single wall tent. Is it good? And is it still good under cold conditions? If you reading this, thanks for reading such a messy text and you really makes great videos 🏆🏆. //Leo
definitely look into this tent its pretty solid. cold weather im not sure as its still 30c here but its a solid tent forsure. as fornair flow it has 4 vents and 2 doors which keeps it nice and cool and ventilated in warmer conditions
Awesome knot video! Thank you, much appreciated! Would love to learn the one one do on the ridgeline full of those lil loop knots if you know what I mean? They seem so handy to have! Sorry do not know the name of them.
Hey man i think i'm gonna buy the wind anchor but i'm a little scared about the height because of the shape do you think that you could be sitting inside the tent with 1-2 friends without height problem ?
Your tarp videos are so awesome. So calm and informative and in a good pace and not so quick and hasty as many others are on YT. Would love the same kind of pace on showing us different good to know knots for any type of camping and would love to see more tarp configurations aswell please! Thank you so much for sharing your great videos with us all. Much appreciated!
I love the pure sign of usage on this knife, battle scars and all, just the way a tool of this nature should be , used with purpose. Nice knife, nice video👍
Perfect tent for lightweight canoe adventures. Such a great canoe that Valhalla is, i love it. I heard rods break when they go years with no use 😂 seriously that sucked. Your camp dinner is on point 😮 looked delicious. Outstanding job again on this one Jeff.
