Just learned that Osu only shifts the visual beatmap position, not the actual time coordinates of the hitwindow event from the music, so think i'm gonna use an audio program to set the offset properly instead. In mania pretty much your muscle memory will rely more on sound then on small visual changes in the beatmap when trying to get lower amounts of error, but both ways can be useful.
Found a program today that can use this method, is called RadioDelay. You also need to install VB audio cable and use it as the output source in Osu. It adds some initial delay even without changing the settings once it's running, but once you add some negative offset in Osu, you can change the chart and audio sync however you want. Another good setting I recommend to test with is the keyboard response time on the mechanical keyboard's settings. Yes and yes. You need to find first appearance of such desync from left AND right. After finding it you need to grab two offset numbers and divide them by 2. Hope thats helps
