Hello, hope can you help me, I make a project and can print without problems but when I turn off my PC to the next day, project can't print.. "Error printing card - unable to print valid card" we have HID FARGO HDP500, help please
My cards always jams during the lamination process. The film usually isn’t aligned, I see that when I get the card and the film is on the card half way. If take the film off it messes up the photo and info on the card. How can I fix this? Also, I perform a cleaning and I get maybe 3 cards done before it starts to jam again (same issue).
No, the mainboards are the primary difference (different firmware). Theoretically if you changed out the HDPii Plus mainboard with an HDP5000, then it would be for all intents and purpsoes an HDP5000 and accept standard HDP5000 ribbon and film. The HDPii Plus was a special firmware version for banks and government that has unique film/ribbon (identified by the media RFID and printer's RFID sensor). Hardware is the same between the HDP5000 and HDPii Plus. The mainboard and its firmware is the primary difference and what makes the HDPii Plus refuse HDP5000 media. We offer a conversion service for $495 where we swap the mainboards and convert your HDPii Plus to HDP5000.
The problem is I bought hdpii plus from ebay an i found it doesn't accept accept ribbon while even in test print the message is error 122.. is there a solution without changing the main board.. like firmware to make it work or replacing Reid??
Error 14 on an HDP5000 printer typically refers to an issue with the ribbon. This error code usually indicates that the ribbon has either broken or is not moving correctly. To resolve this issue, please follow these troubleshooting steps: 1. Turn off the printer: Before working with any internal components, make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. 2. Open the printer cover: Open the top cover of the printer and inspect the ribbon cartridge. 3. Inspect the ribbon: Check if the ribbon is broken or if there is any visible damage. If the ribbon is damaged, you'll need to replace it with a new one. The part number for the standard YMCKO ribbon is 84051. 4. Verify ribbon alignment: Make sure that the ribbon is properly aligned and seated in the ribbon cartridge. If the ribbon is not aligned correctly, it can cause the error. Gently remove the ribbon cartridge, reseat the ribbon, and reinstall the cartridge. 5. Clean the printer: Use a Fargo cleaning card (part number 85976) to clean the printer. This will help remove any dust or debris that could cause ribbon movement issues. 6. Update firmware: Ensure that the printer's firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause unexpected errors. You can download the latest firmware from the HID Fargo website. 7. Ribbon sensor check: If the issue persists after following the previous steps, there might be a problem with the ribbon sensor. In this case, you may want to complete a ribbon and film sensor calibration. After that it is recommended to contact HID Fargo technical support or an authorized service provider for further assistance. Once you have completed these steps, turn the printer back on and check if the error has been resolved. If you continue to encounter Error 14, please let me know so I can provide additional guidance.
@SupportDepartment I'm getting error 14 and it mentions a feeding problem. Keeps telling me it's the wrong card when it isn't. The roller beneath the feeding tray rolls forward and then backwards continuously.
Removing the film wound around the top heated roller on your HDP5000 printer can be a bit tricky, but it's important to resolve this issue as it can cause further damage to the printer or negatively affect print quality. Please follow these steps to carefully remove the film: 1. Turn off the printer: Before working with any internal components, make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. 2. Open the printer cover: Open the top cover of the printer to access the internal components. 3. Remove the film cartridge: Gently remove the film cartridge from the printer. This will give you more space to work with the heated roller. 4. Allow the roller to cool: If the printer has been in use recently, the heated roller may be hot. Wait for it to cool down before attempting to remove the film. 5. Remove the film: Use a pair of needle-nose pliers or tweezers to carefully remove the film from the heated roller. Be patient and take your time to avoid causing any damage to the roller or other internal components. 6. Inspect the roller: After removing the film, check the heated roller for any signs of damage or residue. If you see any residue, you can use a soft cloth or a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the roller. Make sure the roller is completely dry before proceeding. 7. Reassemble the printer: Once you've removed the film and cleaned the roller (if necessary), reinstall the film cartridge and close the top cover. 8. Turn the printer back on: Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on. After completing these steps, run a test print to ensure that the printer is functioning properly and the issue has been resolved. If you continue to encounter problems or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. NOTE: You may be better advised to seek professional service to avoid damaging the roller. If the roller gets damaged it would have to be replaced which is a more complex and expensive issue. OUR SUPPORT TICKET FORM: form.jotform.com/93156176714158

My HDP500 W/laminator module is getting stuck on the second half of the flipper. Its practically brand new. Is the card supposed to go below the two metal rollers or in between them? As of right now it goes below both of them and then there is no where for the card to go. Please help! lol
The card should feed between the rollers within the flipper unit. If it is feeding above or below the feed rollers, then there is likely a configuration/calibration or motor issue within the flipping unit. If you have it properly connected (cables and physically) and have powered off/on to reset, then it likely will require professional diagnostics. NOTE: Never do a factory reset under the LDC menu system. This effectively 'bricks' your device and guarantees it will not function correctly in any number of ways. It is not the equivalent of factory reset on your phone or computer. It is something that only a factory trained technician will do under very limited circumstances, followed by a full config/calibration and tuning process.
If you turned off the Heater Roller on your HDP5000 printer and then turned it back on, and you observed smoke coming out of the printer, it's possible that the Heater Roller was damaged or malfunctioning. In this case, it's important to immediately turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source to avoid any further damage. To address this issue, please follow these steps: 1. Turn off the printer: Make sure to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source to avoid any further damage. 2. Allow the printer to cool down: Wait for the printer to cool down completely before attempting any repairs. 3. Inspect the Heater Roller: Check the Heater Roller for any visible damage or signs of overheating. If the roller appears to be damaged, it may need to be replaced. 4. Replace the Heater Roller: If you suspect that the Heater Roller is damaged, you will need to replace it. The part number for the HDP5000 Heater Roller is 45000. 5. Test the printer: Once you've replaced the Heater Roller, turn the printer back on and run a test print to ensure that it's functioning properly. If you're uncomfortable or unsure about replacing the Heater Roller, or if the printer is still under warranty, it's recommended to contact HID Fargo technical support or an authorized service provider for further assistance. They can provide you with more detailed guidance and support to address this issue safely and effectively. If you need any additional guidance or encounter other issues, please don't hesitate to ask. NOTE: You may be better advised to seek professional service. OUR SUPPORT TICKET FORM: form.jotform.com/93156176714158

at this time only the embosser portion is enabled; while it does have a printer, right now its just acting as the card feed mechanism. We hope to provide a software solution within a year that will enable the printer portion as well. But for now we only market it as a card embossing, foil tipping, front and rear indenting, mag encoding device.

I was cleaning our machine and I didn’t remove the brown strip on the “liner strip” and it got stuck in the encoder portion like the one on the video except we have an older machine so that part doesn’t pop open if it is unscrewed. Any help?
