Revival was Eminem trying something new didn't really hit, makes sense, still had some decent tracks, Kamikaze was him getting another reason to rap, getting back at the critiques which I was a big fan of, Mtbmb is another classic Eminem album, he had a setback everyone thought he fell of then kamikaze dropped and he was back on track, for you to sit talking about Kamikaze and Mtbmb was trash is wild, you're not a fan of them that's understandable but they certainly aren't trash, Revival was mid, but even the mid album had some good tracks, It's just the popular opinion to call him mid when he's doing just fine, He's only making music for the love he has for rap he's not broke anymore so his topic to rap are worse but the music still hits, No disrespect you look like a clown hating on a rapper you're not a fan of and having an opinion on their work, It's like you're trying to discredit something cuz you wanna feel like what you like/listen to is better than what Eminem puts out 🤡
You had one valid opinion this whole video and that's Revival. it's a weak album for Eminem and Framed , Castle and Arose are the best track's on there. however rap was trash in 2017 in general it was the era of mumble rap / Trap music and that all sounded terrible I'd take Revival over any of the dogsh*t other artists was dropping that year. Kamikaze is a great album wtf was you smoking when you made this video man? I'd assume you'd dislike it as you yourself are an Internet reviewer ofcourse you'd call it trash it's aimed at people like you. Eminem went hard on Kamikaze and the only bad songs are the bad romance one's like Good Guy and Bad Guy. Vince Staples album better than Kamikaze yeah you've lost all credibility. Mumble rap is trash it sound's horrible and it was dominate at the time so Eminem coming out with this it was refreshing. Venom is amazing what are you on man you clearly don't know good music for the life of you. Revival is not as bad as people describe it. It has 4-5 bad songs and great songs like Walk On Water, Nowhere Fast, Bad Husband,Castle & Arose. Kamikaze is an fire album the only songs that I dont like are Nice Guy & Good Guy. MTMB is argubly his best album since the Recovery era. Only "Yah,Yan" and "Farewell" aren't good.
I was with you until you started crying about the "f slur.😬" Saying that was the worst line in the album is pure insanity. This is hip hop buddy, I don't think you're built to listen to this type of music. I had to turn the video off after that weak display.
When kamikaze came out there was a palpable rising quality in the hip hop industry. It's like there was this moment where people suddenly wanted to be better than they were. I think you really downplay eminems influence and quality. And starting off the album saying he wants to punch the world in the face was perfect. One of the most fun things about Eminem's music is going through the lore and understanding the lead up and context surrounding him, his fans, and his haters at the time the music came out. There is no other rapper where you feel like you have such a deep dive into a kind of lore as you go through their music. Just like with anything, understanding how to best appreciate something is an important skill when it comes to art. If you just look at the surface or play a smash or pass game with each line, you're appreciating the music all wrong.
Also, some people are so concerned and obsessed with judging every little thing he does that they forget to just sit back and enjoy the art. They forget he's just a guy putting out music. Although, the fact that people think they have to scrutinize every little thing shows just how good they think he actually is that it warrants that much scrutiny. It shows just how much they expect from him, when if any other rapper put out what he did they would probably praise it.
I know this is late but, what did you think of GNAT? As someone who always critiques Eminem heavily, due to wanting him to reach his full potential. I actually thought it’s the closest to his prime, in a current format I know that’s saying A LOT. But, it’s the closest he’s gotten to his prime in a long time in my opinion But I would wanna hear ur opinion on this
I think your criticism mostly is mediocre. And the points you make also seem extremely superfical. Especially on the Kamikaze parts. I don't think you've really watched the entire album to boil that all down like that. And his response to the haters weren't "annoying" or "dumb" like you've made it out to be in the video. It was definetly a lot more diverse than what you've said, I think you should give it a second listen. And the fact that you put a strong emphasis on how he responded to every criticism thrown at him. I think what you're doing wrong is, putting eminem next to any other artists in todays world and comparing him with that metric. Eminem came from battle rap, and if you take a look on his other albums you'll literally see he THRIVES in hating and vulgar responses to people. It is what he has ALWAYS been, so no surprise in todays world people find that idiotic, but that is who he is. And I guess you could criticise his attitude in a superfical way, but I really think this is a wrong way to look at things. If you geniuenly thing whispering into the microphone saying "Gucci gang" over and over again is something that could be considered a talent, then I think you're just spewing out nonesense. Pushing the intricate word-play,beats and lyricism away and boiling down his entire albums to just "hating" is a dumb move. This just feels like a hate-bait and honestly, that is fine if you are into that. No doubt Eminem has been flopping these recent years(Especially Revival), but this video just seems like a guy that doesn't know a lot about Eminem, judging him based on todays metrics and trying his best to filter out all the good things in his albums just to make an mediocre 30 minute video. ...MTBMB criticism is fair tho
