Nice..I have a postwar brochure issued by the SMT garages...scottish motor traders....showing various ex ww2 Austin's and Bedfords fitted with their civillian van bodies which were made available to grocers and the like,because obviously in post war civil use an open ex army truck was of no practical use so they made bespoke van style bodies for previously open back gs army trucks to make them more saleable.
As an ex reach mech AEC trained, the earth anchor is good for 30 tons, with the 15 ton winch using a snatch block giving a 2:1 advantage which is 30 tons pull it would have pulled that CET out no problem. It was good to see the AEC driving through the mud.😊
Yep that pale green Bedford early on was a great old survivor, I only got a clip of it driving along it had left by the time we walked over to the truckstop itself
