This was the first production semi auto on the market and mine ran perfectly until last year when I scrapped the car due to rotten out sills, the engine and gearbox were still absolutely perfect, had I not spotted the sills during the MOT prep then maybe I'd still be running her today, but they drivetrain made its way to a new home and so in part she still lives on.
Hey there, great video! I was just wondering how I reattach the inner piece that you’ve reupholstered to the rest of the door card. Do you just use some sort of glue?
Once the insert is in position on the door card the handle will hold it in place. Refitting the star washer will hold to the card on one side and it wraps around the other side. Once the handle is screwed to the door it is all pulled in place.
fixing my own selespeed right now, thanks for the dissambly - the finger at 3:10 is my actual problem, turned out there is a flat and a V one, my gearbox is V and the mechanics installed the flat one on the hydraulic side. I am going to swap it tomorrow and I hope that fixes all my lately Problems.
Cheers mate!, what did you learn from this exercise? From what I could see the internal components looked in great condition! Was the unit faulty? if so what were the symptoms?, one more question: do you know if there is a rebuild kit available for this selespeed?
It was just a spare so took it apart to see what was inside. You can get seal kits here: www.soviautoricambi.com/ I've not bought one so can't vouch for how good they are.
I have extracted several times the oil of the reservoir but that's only 300 ml aprox...do you always change the oil following the 1 to 3 steps? Lot of thanks in advance!!
Mate well done on the instructions but what were the symptoms you had that made you decide to change the evo? and where did you purchase the solenoid? and did it solve your issue?
