Those long grooves on the head that go towards the back of the eyes are used to scan the 180° surroundings when the head is stationary. What did you do with this soloist, let her take the microphone on her day off ;) Does pooping shortly before flight indicate that the birds will be able to fly soon? Even at the end of March, this bird's songs are amazing, they do not damage the ear like finches and titmice. It is like therapy for the soul! I came here to record and improve falling asleep.Thank you two handsome gentlemen....

Such a familiar and beautiful singing. Just came here as my little robin friend who got so comfortable with me that he was flying around my ear and sitting on my hand was taken by the goshawk I saw another day. Me and my whole family living with me is sad because of it. It’s amazing how people can get attached to a little bird in the garden.
Such beautiful video of your little friend. I am blessed to have a robin friend since June, showed up as a juvenile. He/she flies up to me now whenever I step outside. One day it had even followed me part way up a mountain in front of my house. I've been wondering for a long time about the chirping/singing in the throat without opening the beak, because I only heard it after it had meal worms of my hand. It would then fly to a branch nearby and 'serenade me quietly'. Maybe this is their 'gratitude' intimate song? Thank you for posting. I too will miss my friend when nature takes its cause and I cherish every single moment, each could be the last. ❤
Thanks for sharing and drawing attention to the throat song. That is also the impression that I got when I fed my visitor. We had woodland behind our house and he would follow me through the woods.
@@IceFireHunter that is so special, having a little wild friend following you through the woods. These little winged friends (and animals in general) know how to call us present to life and the small miracles it holds. I had looked for the throat song without luck, I'm glad I found it here. Thank you again.
Forgot what a wonderful sound Robins make. Sadly we don’t get small singing birds where we live as the area is completely over run with the very annoying bully house sparrows.
What a wonderful video! He’s absolutely delightful. Even though he’s passed on, his memory will live on in this video. Thanks so much for sharing him with us.
I have played this a few times in my garden.. all the other birds start to sing.. Makes for a wonderful encounter! Such joyous, precious creatures! Squishes the Heart.
