Hi. I recently discovered your videos. Thank you for showing that you can put plants in the ground BEFORE you lay cardboard down to create the bed. I have some plants that I need to plant before frost, but the new bed is not ready yet. So thanks for showing that it can be done. Love your videos. Lee
Sometimes I’m like, “I’ll knock this planting or transplanting out in no more than 30 minutes.” 3 hours later I’m still out there. 😂. My issue is the darn tree roots. I’m thankful that several years ago I learned better when it came to that landscape fabric crap and I will never use it again for planting. I removed the rest of it from my yard when I expanded my low retaining wall this year and only used it for the stone soil separation.
It is frustrating when what seems like a really straight forward job suddenly becomes much more time consuming because of unforeseen conditions! Hopefully the boxwoods will thrive now that they don’t have landscaping fabric strangling them out!
I'm so glad you found good physical therapy! I've been to fantastic people and really poor ones! It truly is worth the time and effort to take care of ourselves!
Loving the garden, Hannah. That potted geranium is gorgeous! If you should find the name of the darker hibiscus, I would love to know it. It’s very nice.
Hello, found your video on lining a rectangular window box planter as I’ve got 50cm ones but can no longer find anywhere here in Monmouth, South Wales, UK that seems to sell them now 🙈 so needed guidance on how I’d line the baskets with liner. Your video was really helpful & I loved your finished planter. Loved your use of some houseplants but wouldn’t risk that here in the UK as we don’t get consistently warm enough weather for them to be outside unfortunately. Happy gardening 🧑🌾 😊 Pip x
It’s been oppressive here too, Hannah. Low to mid 90s with high humidity. Walking out the door literally was like walking into immediate heat with drought conditions. Today, sweet welcome rain and a cold front working into our area (Kentucky). Your raised beds look great.
Hi- Hannah’s mom here. When we built the cottage in 2010, we had over 50 cubic yards of very rich top soil brought in for the beds and even more for areas that we wanted to grow grass in. That was necessary because the house is built almost entirely in sand. All the plants love the soil - everything grows so well!
