did you feel like the comp carbon with upgraded tcu was worth it? cant decide between the (still discounted) base carbon or comp carbon levo. $5100 for the base carbon and $6750 for the comp carbon. I have my own fox 36 and fox x2 i will be putting on either bike.
for me.. TCU doesn't really bother me nor i would think it's a deal breaker or not.. bike ride feel the same ... but i also look at other components .. like the base carbon model.. it's a downgrade in the drivetrain department. and i can feel the different between NX vs GX. that's the major reason i opt for the comp version
@@GalenMa Thanks. I am hoping for a Mullet bike but not as big as the Stumpjumper Evo. I think if regular Stumpjumper comes with Mullet conversion and a slightly more travel like 150 fork with 140 shock, it would have been perfect. I would like 1200 Wheelbase on the S3/medium like the regular Stumpjumper, also. Do you think if I change it to steep head angle on the Evo Mullet, I could have the same result since wheelbase would be shortened?
Hi. Nicevideo. So do you think it's worth getting the Evo with the Mullet set up? I am thinking this ride would have been better with the regular Stumpjumper, right?
@@ablobo17 I don't remember exact setting as i had a bike shop to dial it in for me... but i did lock the suspension for going up and open it up for going down.
@@robsprimallife damn .. sorry to hear that... that's the down side with carbon frame, which always get me worry something bad going to happen to mine too.. that's why first thing i did was the bike wrap, may not help much, but at least better than nothing...
@@robsprimallife Where on the downtube did it crack if you don't mind me asking ? Was it under that clear protector they have pre-installed or was it somewhere without any protection ? Thanks, i am trying to figure out how to protect mine more.
Uh, that bike is built for serious bumps, roots, drops, jumps.....you need to get off the groomed fire road stuff and got hit some shit. In this video, you did not even get to 10% of what this bike can do
I ordered this bike and it came it the other day. I wanted to ask you two questions. 1. I noticed when you spin the back wheel in the video (suspended on the stand) it makes that sound all bikes typically make. On my EVO Expert it's spins quietly with no sound..I miss that sound. Is that a setting? 2. Mine came with a bunch of stickers...is those to put on the bike or just for whatever?...silly question I know. Thanks.
Hello Mario... Answer #1... i upgrade the star ratchet to 54T (Dt Swiss 54T Star Ratchet Upgrade Kit).. you can easily find this at your LBS or even Amazon. This help with pedal engagement, although it doesn't sound that loud in person. #2 i saw those stickers too, but i didn't pay attention to them since i got my bike frame and fork wrapped. let me know if you able to apply those sticker on yours.
@@mariog1244 and Specialized have forgone the three pawl system and use this upgraded 370LN star ratchet for the same reason too, star ratchet is much easier to maintain, upgrade and replace down the road
The ratcheting sound will get louder as you ride the bike. When the bike is new, the factory grease between the two ratchet discs buffers the sound. The amount of grease the factory applies varies from bike to bike so some bikes are louder than others when new.
Nice bike, I have the exact same model and size. All stock. I’ve been to lift access parks multiple times and pretty rowdy trails weekly with it. The bike has taken everything that has been thrown at it very well. Wheels will need to be trued at the end of the season but that’s about it. I definitely need to upgrade the rear hub engagement like you have.
Hi! Nice bike! I have 2021 evo expert and I am planning to upgrade my tires to 2.6 Assegai front and 2.6 DHF rear. How’s the clearance for the rear? Thanks!
There's plenty of room for 2.6". .. i think I read somwhere people claim they can put 2.8 in the rear as well but probably leaving only like hair line gap in between
1:55 thorny weeds is one reason I don't like biking chino hills state park. the thorns are so tiny and hurt like hell. not good for people with allergies either.
