I've heard these sound effects from an emperor chick @ 3:41 / 3:45 but never really understood what it meant. I just assumed it is fatigue and that's how they yawn or when they begin to get sleepy lol.

The mothers come back from fishing when the chicks are a couple of days old. These chicks in the videos are much older. The adults may be mothers and the dads are feeding in the ocean.
@@eagles_s I doubt he wants them to suffer, he probably just thought it was a cute expression. I don't understand why everyone is so trigger happy on the internet. People interpret everything as bad as possible, just to insult each other.
